Description
Catharsis (Greek meaning "purification" or "cleansing") is the purification and purgation of emotionsβespecially pity and fearβthrough art or to any extreme change in emotion that results in renewal and restoration. This is an exceptionally personal piece, something I've been wanting to do for years.

As well as anger should be, it is a difficult thing to control.

Ahh, I really like this! Particularly the rightmost one, I think because of the very 'fluid' way in which you did the fire. Excellent work!

Thank you (another one of those accidents that turns out kinda cool).

Buh...but muh feet hurt.Β
Crap load of bags, Free Power Ranger cards that are selling for $5-7 each online. No comic books, and unfortunately, no Irish girls. Did get a crap load of photos taken, but only one of which ever got uploaded to the internet. Kinda bummed about that, with people stretching on Party City costumes getting their photos taken more then mine. Or neckbearded bronies in creepy costumes or those dime a dozen deadpools getting more photos taken also.Β
Got a to talk to a lot of other artists, make networking, hoping they can put in a good word for me in terms of internships and what have you. Β

Thanks, I'm slowly learning how to mix colors and blending better.
Oh God, that choice of words...it's disturbingly accurate.
Yeah it did, I had the 'idea' for this for MANY years (since 2004). I've just been pushing it down further and further (until, go figure, it exploded on me). Now that I sort of 'exorcized' a few demons, I feel a lot more....adjusted

I really like the shading in these; you can tell how far you've come with shading and it creates a macabre atmosphere to match the subject matter. I think everyone should depict their inner demons or fears to better face them and squash them. It is what helps us grow to start anew. Sometimes they still linger but at least you learned how to 'tame' them to make them settle and shush.
Fantastic job, Kitten

Drawing this picture felt great, I got a chance to pour all the negativity out of me and start focusing on the GOOD. :3

The middle is my favourite. Something about a grinning mouth and sharp teeth, but I like the third with burning all the unwanted stuff out, leaving the shell which you can put something new into.

Each one represents a certain period in my life that was filled with regret, anger and desire (the bad kind, the kind where you feel like an empty cup and no matter what, you cannot fill it).
That's a fantastic analogy for it by the way, since that's basically how it happened.
I got so tired of trying to reach this nonexistent finish-line, that I basically "burned out".
*sisfist* you'd make a damn good psychologist btw, lol.

Especially twisted... but understandable since they embody the worst of everybody. I do love the texture of the fiery one.
From a personal level, any unwanted emotion I have can be easily forgotten by watching this for several hours:Β [link]

*nod nod*
Every person on this planet has SOME form of 'inner-demon'.
(whether it's an addiction, emotional/psychological/physical trauma or whatever)
I think it's important to not let these things control ones life.
Ah her, not a texture, just tedious brush settings
(I basically stopped using textures and started learning how to adjust 'brush settings', you'd be amazed at the results)
*claps* oh Lord, Ed, Edd and Eddy was SO ahead of it's time~
