ZOMG it's a background!Another old pic. Gawd, I think I had more drive to draw back then than I do now. And, surprise, another Link and Aryll one. This one actually needed some photoshopping before I was comfortable with posting it; I had a bad habit of drawing wide-set walleyed faces, especially on the kids, but it looks a touch better now.
The grass is a little confusing, but better than other attempts at the time. I like the Evening Primroses in the background, too, though I'm not sure they're native to the environment. I ended up picking up my Edible Field Guide for photo reference, and probably picked out random seashore plants. The other one is a mallow.
Because of my idiocy at the time, I have to point out the damned bee in the corner, because making key features dark in a bright picture is NOT the best way to draw attention to them. Bah.
Why is Link's hair so hard to figure out? I think I gave up trying to draw it like that.

Your blue sky and clouds is simply GORGEOUS. It reminds me a lot of where I live, pretty close to the ocean. I think the bee placement is fine, it doesn't draw attention away from Link and Aryll and a nice surprise to find for those who like to look for the little details in the picture- not only that but it makes it realistic in the sense that it feels like a still capture where not everything is perfectly in place and captures the feeling of light. Ahah maybe I'm looking into it too much but that's my honest opinion ^__^
I agree Links hair is hard to figure out- I know it goes to the left but most of the time I draw whatever is easiest hahahaa-

Oh man, it sure is hard. It's got these fluffed-out bits that overlap, and you have to balance the shapes while working around his facial features, and then when he looks in different directions it complicates things even more. x__x Even after all these years, I still haven't figured it out completely. You do a good job of stylizing it in an appealing way, though.

I think it looks great just like this! If you do ever decide to make a new one, I'd be very curious to see how you would do it differently~

She's an old RP character that I later tried to do something original with, but then I lost interest over time and it kind of washed. That's why I've got the odd picture of wolfcelts and stuff scattered around, ahaha. I might do something with her some day, still, if I get any new ideas and a little steam. I have a hard time coming up with story ideas, though.
Oh lawd if only you heard the embarrassing noises I made when I saw it.

What tools did you use to make the background with? Because it looks really amazing.

Just standard Photoshop tools on this one. Paintbrush and a little airbrushing, and lots of layers. It could probably be done in any good paint program -- better than Photoshop, in some cases.

Heh heh. If I remember correctly, I was trying to be a little subtle, but I went too far. Unfortunately, photoshopping makes it worse. Oh well, best to learn from one's mistakes.
