Description
Oil pastel on bristol. A design I did for a friend. I ended up loving the design so I kept drawing her beyond just mapping her out for her visual look. She is a black widow in human form with an eye for a pseudo-Victorian fashion. Some of the piece has been touched up digitally in photoshop.2007

The enlongated neck and limbs are intentional as part of stylization. I find boredom in the perfection of anatmy, especially when it comes to cartoon works.

I love her smug expression despite the bleeding skeleton next to her, if that was me I'd look a little like this:
XD haa, but I do really like this-its very dark and pretty

Amazing shapes, the short supple skin and sharp cold talons, wispy hair, truly inspiring forms. I love how the skeletal figure is just partly within the canvas, for a portrait there's a lot of interesting going on here.

This is fabulously eerie! The black widow motif and her overall look are very similar to a story I started writing but lost interest in. This may be the inspiration I need!

Have you ever seen the Magic the Gathering card called Diabolic Tutor? This looks like a female version of it. I absolutely love that.

There's a wonderfully consistency in all your public displays despite the various mediums use. I must ask is the jewel in the pendant altered digitally or does it really glow on the original canvas?

Altered digitally, though if I painted some gouache on the canvas I could make it glow. Just kind of lazy I guess haha.

Oh man, if I had nails like that I would scrape them on people's bedroom windows at night.. while they slept.
Also, I love her hair.

That's gorgeous. I love the skeleton, and the shading. Her stylized hands are creepy as shit but IN THE COOLEST WAY EVER.

I think that simple pose works well- makes it freaky cause she's so unmoved by the skele's presence.

Sometimes I just have a hard time telling when the balance is off after I've manually cropped something. I really should get over my laziness of utilizing photoshop beyond its manual controls
