Description
Here is another made-up Pokémon. Not exactly "legendary," it is intended to be notably rare, as well as fairly difficult to catch.----------
Leppicorn
Elusive Pokemon
(Fighting/Psychic)
This is an exceedingly rare Pokémon, so much so that oftentimes it's believed to not exist. For many years people told tales of their encounters with the creature, though they could never catch it due to its intellect and trickery.
Leppicorn often appears very lax, showing little initiative even when encountered by an opponent, even yawning. When battled, however, it become very aggressive, sometimes to the point of being downright vicious. Leppicorn is very intelligent and uses its agility and trickery to gain the upper hand. In reality it's very confident and proud of its fighting talents, and makes itself obscure so that it can find a good challenge.
But its skills are very deceptive as well. Looking like just a mere fighting critter, you'd never guess that it bears a sixth sense. Not only has this been useful for predicting an opponent's attacks, it can actually use telepathy and mental force as attacks. Some stories say that Leppicorn's hair may actually be hiding three eyes.
Despite not being a proper legendary Pokémon, Leppicorn are very difficult to catch in Pokéballs, often able to break out easily. It's said that when Leppicorn is caught, it becomes very impressed with the trainer, to the point of unfaltering loyalty and admiration.
Interestingly, Lucario appears uneasy when in the presence of Leppicorn, though no one is sure exactly why.
----------
Obviously, Leppicorn's design is based around the mythical "Jackalope." I figured if there are creatures based on Eastern mythical beasts (tengu, kitsune, kappa, shisa/xiezhi), we should probably shoehorn a Western one somewhere in there. Plus, jackalopes are AWESOME.
Leppicorn's name was very difficult to come up with. It ended up fusing the Hare genus (lepus) with "Capricorn." Also, Leppicorn has the added benefit of sounding like "Leprechaun," the Irish sprite who is also notably quite elusive and tricky, so it just *works.* :3
Along with the horns and long hair, it has fur that makes the appearance of a waistcoat, as a very slight nod to the famed "White Rabbit." There are female Leppicorns, but their appearance differs slightly; the horns are significantly smaller, and the "waistcoat" fur is slightly longer.
In terms of skills, Leppicorn bears a signature Fighting-type move called "Juggle Punch." Its accuracy is only about 50%, but if it manages to connect it sends the target skyward (assumedly stunned), and Leppicorn then immediately initiates another move at random from its selections. This of course includes Juggle Punch, so in theory it's *possible* to see a small string of Juggle Punch hits before another move is used, but the relatively low accuracy makes this feat difficult to pull off. Keep in mind, moves performed through Juggle Punch combinations still take away from their respective PP. Juggle Punch itself is fairly damaging, at around 100 power.
Other moves it may learn may include:
Aura Sphere
Counter
Cross Chop
Detect
Drain Punch
Faint Attack
Kinesis
Magic Coat
Megahorn
Night Daze
Psychic
Psycho Boost
Shadow Ball
Shadow Punch
Zen Headbutt
...among other things.
There are two possible abilities for Leppicorn to have. One is "Lucky Foot," which raises the accuracy of its moves each time it evades a target's attack, a trait handy for the aforementioned Juggle Punch. The other is "Vengeance," where its Attack stat is raised based on how low its HP is.

The Study of Leppicorn
--INTRODUCTION--
My name is Dr. William Herrick, and for the past 20 years I have been carefully studying the behaviors and lifestyles of an allegedly mythical Pokémon in Destra, known as the Leppicorn. Even after centuries of their existence, there has been little documented information on this Pokémon, leading most people nowadays to believe that it is either extinct or an absolute hoax.
After numerous wild encounters and frequent travels, I had researched and recorded their typical lives and examined intricate details, the likes of which very few have ever known. On rare occasions, the Leppicorn have even let me approach them to study them closer.
Finally returning from my endeavors, I present my findings to the world. What you are about to read is the most comprehensive collection of Leppicorn information known to the modern world.

The average Leppicorn has a height of approximately 3 1/2 ft, and usually weigh approx

The field of "Fakemon" is not one I deal with often, and the ideas I have are few. But I'd hazard to say this has been one of my most favorite creations in recent times. They were fun and interesting to conceptualize, obviously to the point where a full-fledged document was made to tie everything together. No doubt folks will see these creatures again in the future. :3

I think his stature is going like, ' Come at me bro, if you think you have a chance'.
I really want that Pokemon now!
Wait... What would happen if you bred a Leppicorn and a Lucario?
( Lucario is my fave Pokemon )

Ah, but that's one of the weird quirks about Leppicorn. It's unable to breed with any other Pokemon other than another Leppicorn. Not even Ditto can breed with it. It explains part of its rarity.

I think Leppicorn is by far my favorite fakemon you've made. I think I've also came up with a unique way on how to capture a Leppicorn if it ever was in a game:
Leppicorn can only be found in certain areas, and are extremely rare (1%). Even if you manage to run into one, it will immediately run away before you can do any action. at some point when you get to a town, there's an old man who will tell you about the legend of the Leppicorn, one important thing he tells you is that Leppicorns love spicy food. In another town there will be a guy who will sell vegetebles (if they ever decide to include veggies), and one of the Veggies he sells are Chili Peppers. Normally Chili Peppers boost the power of Fire-Type moves for one turn for the pokemon that ate it, But it has a second function when you run into a Leppicorn. Instead of giving it to a pokemon, you can throw it at the Leppicorn and it will start eating it, a message will appear saying "The Wild Leppicorn is Happily Eating The Chili Pepper!", that's when you make your move. If your feeling lucky, you can immediately throw a poke ball at it, but I imagine that it has a low catch-rate, so that's not a smart move. The smart thing to is simple, hit it. Once your pokemon land a move on it, the Leppicorn will get angry and another message will say "The Wild Leppicorn Is Angry!", and it will stay and fight, and the battle will procede like a normal battle.
That's how I think a Leppicorn should be caught if it ever was in a pokemon game. That's if you approve.

I'm very happy you like Leppicorn, many thanks!
It's an interesting idea you thought of for Leppicorn's capture method, though admittedly I had been thinking of a similar idea. This is what I ended up with:
Like your idea, Leppicorn are only in certain areas and extremely uncommon to come across. If you run into one, however, you get three turns to weaken and/or catch it before it runs off (a failed attempt to catch it can make it run off sooner). Particular moves can possibly keep the Leppicorn from running away, such as Block or Mean Look.
There have actually been Berries that resembled vegetables in the past (Gen III, I think), so I'm not confident Vegies will be a separate thing. However, I have pondered the introduction of a rare item you're able to get once when you find the home of Dr. Herrick (known for his extensive study on Leppicorn). Known as the "Demon Pepper," if you use it when a Leppicorn appears, they take and eat it, and message appears that suggest it's in a very happy mood. In this situation, *any* Pokéball could catch it, and it would not attempt to break free. They would love you *that* much for the Demon Pepper. (Any other wild Pokémon would flee when the Demon Pepper is used.)
You'll only get the one from Dr. Herrick; if additional ones are to be provided, they'll be for a high price, like the Battle Tower point exchanges or whatever. Demon Peppers are not common, and are a bit too spicy to use in food (they even *look* like they're on fire, and are unusually warm to the touch).
Keep in mind that Leppicorn is the inverse of Lucario in the sense of wild appearances. You have to evolve Riolu in order to obtain Lucario, but you'll only find the fully-evolved Leppicorn in the wild; you need both a male and a female Leppicorn (no Ditto, sorry) to breed a Bunshee. So there's an additional challenge of finding *two* Leppicorn, one of each gender. It's easier to do when you caught or saw one, of course, as trades could make things a little easier. But you can't trade a Leppicorn that mated with another; they're faithful couples that can't be separated.

MalamiteLtd In reply to thegreekweegee [2011-09-18 19:56:17 +0000 UTC]
Well, after some thought, this is what I roughly came up with as "base stats."
HP: 50
ATT: 115
DEF: 95
SP.AT: 135
SP.DF: 95
SPD: 35
(TOTAL: 525)
Despite it being incredibly fast, its speed stat is very low, as it typically does not prefer to move first. Additionally, its HP is fairly low as well.
Due to this, Leppicorn has to depend on evasiveness and accuracy to get the upper hand. Anything that can raise its evasiveness is highly desired.
Its signature ability, "Lucky Foot," increases its accuracy each time it successfully evades an attack. This benefits its signature move "Juggle Punch," which hits and immediately follows with one of its available four moves in the same turn. While the attack normally only hits 50% of the time, raised accuracy can potentially make it a valuable ability.
....
If a Pokeathlon were to exist, however, here are each of the max stats...
Speed: 5 (NORM:5)
Skill: 5 (NORM:4)
Jump: 5 (NORM:5)
Power: 3 (NORM:2)
Stamina: 3 (NORM:2)

thegreekweegee In reply to MalamiteLtd [2011-09-18 20:37:44 +0000 UTC]
Hmmm... With a Sp.Atk. comparable to Alakazam and Porygon-Z and a respectable Atk. stat, I'd say it could do a lot of damage. Double Team and Sand Attack would be game breaking for it if it has the Lucky Foot ability and its decent defences make sure it can take a hit and give it time to abuse the 2 moves at its leisure, enabling it to Juggle Punch like mad (unless the opponent has a perfect accuracy move). Because it's very fast, you should give it Extremespeed to nullify its Speed weakness and give it a finishing move. I also suggest to put the base stats in the description for stat-freaks to enjoy. Other than that, I have nothing more to say.
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
MalamiteLtd In reply to thegreekweegee [2011-09-18 20:59:41 +0000 UTC]
Well, if the Leppicorn has both Sand Attack and Double Team as well as Juggle Punch, there's a chance that the Juggle Punch's follow-up move could be Sand Attack or Double Team. Remember, Juggle Punch could be immediately followed by *any* of the four moves it has available. This includes non-damaging moves. Personally, I see it a waste of its signature move if most or all its other moves are non-damaging stat-boosters.
Incidentally, I imagine the normal PP of Juggle Punch to be 10 (max. 16).
Extremespeed is certainly one of the moves it can learn. (Sucker Punch or Fake Out can be others.)

thegreekweegee In reply to MalamiteLtd [2011-09-18 21:22:03 +0000 UTC]
Meh. One of them is enough normally. It's up to the trainer to decide what moves his pokemon can take. I only made suggestions, after all. Plus, Double Team is suggested over Sand Attack because you never know if the opponent's Pokemon has Keen Eye or, even worse, Contrary.
Juggle-combos ahoy!

Can't say I'm sure why you want to go with different designs between genders with this one.
They're not really *that* different. As I mention on the "female" wallpaper deviation, the two real differences are the size of the horns (shorter) and the length of the waistcoat (longer). It's a similar story with Bunshee. But they're details that are meant to be apparent when next to each other.
Anyway, a lot of creatures seem to have small differences between them. Only a few make immediately notable differences between genders, if one doesn't count the Nidoran family or Tauros/Miltank. Namely: Hippopotas/Hippowdon, Frillish/Jellicent, and Unfezant.

I keep imagining a Leppicorn would appear, attack for maybe two or three turns, and then running away. That might not be entirely fair though.
(I've seen a *fair* number of Absol on one route in Black.)
I hadn't originally intended a rivalry with another Pokémon when I was thinking up the critter, but as the details began to take form it just seemed to emerge. It makes for a nice source of conflict that could show off the fighting skills of both Pokémon one way or another.
It also helped determine the main colors; while Lucario has a blue coloration, I wanted the rival to be red, as if they were "Player 1" and "Player 2" or something. :3
