Earth-62. The year 1994. Out of space came a runaway planetoid, hurtling between Earth and the moon before finally being consumed by the sun. The ecological disasters cast man's civilization into ruins, and the new elements added to the sun's flames by the planetoid's disintegration altered the sun's energies. All technology on Earth that survived the quakes and disasters simply stopped working. 2,000 years later, Earth is reborn. A strange new world rises from the ashes of the old; a world of savagery, super-science and sorcery! It is a new age of magic, and those who have magic control the world. Outraged by this abuse of power, the archmage Shazam gathers a new order of knights made up of the greatest warriors and wizards to be found. Together, these Knights of Justice vow to abolish tyranny and restore peace and order to their world.

Emerald Lantern: To combat the Black, which seeks to consume all life in the universe, the Guardians of the Universe - a group of powerful and timeless wizards and sorcerers - formed the Order of the Emerald Lantern. Those inducted into the Order are granted the title of 'Knight.' These Knights are called from worlds across the universe and granted great power through mystical Lantern-shaped artifacts. The key to unlocking this power is the ring all members of the order are given, which has inscribed upon it the Oath of the Emerald Knights. Sir Harold Jordan of Earth is one of the most distinguished members of the Order. During Hal's childhood, the Shadow League plunged his world into darkness, summoning fiendish creatures of the Black. These creatures slew Hal's family, and if not for the intervention of the Emerald Knight Alan Scott, would have slain Hal as well. After the Shadow League was defeated, Sir Scott took the orphaned Hal as his squire. Hal learned well under Sir Scott's tutelage and was inducted into the Order

Marvel: Unknown even to his fellow Knights, the mighty warrior mage, Marvel, is in reality young William, Shazam's apprentice. Wishing to give his champions his aide, but lacking the youthful body to truly help, Shazam performed a ritual that transferred the bulk of his magic powers to William, giving him the power to disguise himself as an adult man and fight alongside his comrades.

Zatanna: The mysterious silent sorceress, Zatanna, is never without her familiar, the white owl Barnabus. Having sacrificed her voice in return for magic power to protect her village, Zatanna shares a psychic link with her animal friend, allowing her to speak through him.

Superman: Kal-El of Krypton was rocketed to Earth to avoid the devastating chain reaction that destroyed his home planet. Crashing down near a small farming village, the infant was raised by a kindly family who gave him the name Clark. As he grew older, Clark's alien cells absorbed the rays of the sun, their altered nature affecting him and granting him amazing mystical powers. Now, as the warrior mage Superman, Clark leads the Knights of Justice in their battle for truth, justice and peace.

Supergirl: Kara Zor-El, a young initiate in the priests of Rao, the Kryptonian sun god, was sent to Earth to watch over her infant cousin, Kal, only for her space pod to be damaged and arrive on Earth DECADES after her cousin had. As the sole survivor of Rao's cult, she is now the inheritor of the alien god's full mystic might, and the title Blessed of Rao. Reunited with her cousin, Kara has embraced her destiny and fights alongside him and his comrades, determined to save her new home where she could not save their old one.
