Earth-HB was never a world without heroes, but they mostly operated on their own, leaving the work of overseeing the world to the multinational security force of Inter-Nation, until the day odd portals began to open across the world, unleashing horrors from across time and space. With Inter-Nation overwhelmed, young scientist/adventurer, Dr. Johnathan Quest, reaches out to various heroes he has met in his travels across the globe to form a team dedicated to investigating the cause of these tears and preventing the horrors of past, present and future from destroying mankind.

Mightor: Hidden deep in the Andes Mountains is a valley where dinosaurs and prehistoric mammals, collected across time by a yet unknown alien race, still roam and survive. Here, into a tribe of people dwelling in the cliffs was born a boy named Tor. As a young man, Tor went on a hunting trip into the mountains with only his loyal pet dinosaur, Tog. When they came across an old hermit being attacked by a savage Allosaurus, Tor used his spear to drive the dinosaur off. Grateful, the old hermit led Tor and Tog to his cave, where he presented the young man with a large wooden club he said had great magical powers. As Tor and Tog returned home, they discovered their people under attack from a rival tribe! Raising his new club to the sky, Tor was transformed in an explosion of energy into a heavily muscled giant of a man with the powers of flight, superhuman strength and durability and to fire energy blasts from his club, and Tog became a ferocious dragon! Now, as the Mighty Mightor, the ancient warrior and his fire-breathing companion fight to protect their home from threats both within and without.

Space Ghost: Thaddeus Bach was a member of a galaxy-spanning corps of peace-keepers, each one outfitted with the special power-bands. For a thousand generations, the Space Patrol had been the upholders of peace and justice in the Milky Way... until the day Omnikron attacked! Greatly overpowered by the extradimensional horror, still the officers fought on... until all lay dead with Omnikron... all but one. Thaddeus, lost and alone without his friends, vowed not to let their legacy die, and donned an experimental battlesuit to wage a one-man crusade on crime. Birdman: Archeologist Ray Randall was on a dig in Egypt when he stumbled upon an ancient cult that still worshipped the ancient gods. Discovered and brought before the high priest, Ray was subjected to a ritual to summon the god of the sun, Ra. The deity saw potential in Ray and blessed him with a portion of his powers, giving Ray the power to store and expel solar energy. Discovering he could even use his powers to form a pair of great eagle-like wings of hard light, Ray created a costume and became the costumed hero, Birdman! A long-time special agent of Inter-Nation, Birdman's identity is known only to a select few. His hidden base resides in an extinct volcano, where he also lives, alongside his protégé, Birdboy, and his pet eagle, Avenger.

Frankenstein Jr.: Dr. Janice Conroy, her husband, Ted, and their son, Buzz were living on a remote military base while the couple were part of a top-secret government project. There was a terrible accident and the complex was destroyed. Sadly, Ted was killed in the explosion, leaving Janice and Buzz alone. Leaving government work behind, Janice tried to be there for her son, until she saw Buzz drawing images of a big robot. Indulging the boy, Janice and Buzz worked together to build a towering robotic friend that Buzz named Frankenstein Jr. Using a special ring to call the robot from great distances, Buzz began to use his artificial brother as a way to help people by fighting crime and saving innocent people from danger. With Buzz's keen mind and Frankie's powerful metal body and energy blasts, these two friends are one great hero.

Johnny Quest: Son of famed scientist Benton Quest, Johnny was no stranger to adventure even as a young boy, being taken around the world by his family. Though his father had excelled in engineering and rocket science, Johnny, always adventurous by nature, is now a leading expert on the paranormal, tracking down and examining known supernatural hot spots around the world. After witnessing a portal open and spew out what could only be described as monsters, Johnny quickly began to reach out for others like himself who could protect the world from these horrors.

The Blue Falcon: Multimillionaire socialite art dealer Radley Crown and his beloved Doberman-mix, Richie, are in reality the crime fighting duo of the Blue Falcon and Dynomutt, the Dog Wonder. As a boy, Radley's parents had given him Richie to be a pet and the two were quickly inseparable. When Radley was 8, a prowler broke into the house and attempted to kidnap him. Richie, as always, was immediately at his little friend's side and POUNCED at the criminal, biting and clawing... until the fleeing crook's gun went off. Radley was fine, but Richie was mortally wounded by the shot. Radley's father, a noted cybernetics expert, would not let the brave canine's sacrifice be in vain and set to work. He quickly built a cybernetic body based on Richie's own and transferred the dog's memories, personality and instincts into it. Richie was reborn was a perfect cybernetic canine, with the added benefit of his computer brain increasing his intelligence to the point where he can now speak English. Not wanting to experience such horror and near-loss again, Radley dedicated his life to fighting crime and trained his body and mind to the peak of human performance. As a man, Radley has used his great fortune to create an array of crime-fighting tools and a base to wage his one-man war on crime. Richie, making it known he would not let his master do this alone, allowed himself to be outfitted with a small arsenal of crime-stopping weapons and devices, becoming Dynomutt!
