Description Had the idea to give the UES faction a kind of end all-be all ship like this for a while now (previously known as the Mammoth-class super-battleship), but I had never put a design or any kind of look to it before. Over the last week or so I've been modeling out this one and although its not 100% finished at all i thought it was just looking too good right now to not put up some shots of it. This is by far the largest ship I've modeled to this point, fittingly so as its the most powerful vessel in the UES Naval arsenal. The dreadnought is meant to be a centerpiece of fleets, can engage targets from extreme range and can take obscene amounts of damage before showing slow down. I made sure to include a few shots showing off just how massive this ship is compared to other UES ships for good reference (as the largest frigate in the UES Navy can literally fit inside of a dreadnought's main thrusters).

Without a doubt the most powerful class of ship in the known galaxy, the Enceladus-class is the ultimate end all be all of UES naval power. Designed in the mid 2320s along with the Perses-class supercarrier, reportedly starting construction from the late 2320s onward and coming into service a few years after the start of the Human-Exohuman War, the ships of this class are meant to be extremely tough and are capable of previously unseen amounts of firepower to turn the tide of any fleet battle in the UES's favor. Almost 5 kilometers in length, the ship easily dwarfs most other UES ships besides the battleship and supercarrier, and combines the most destructive weapons in the UES arsenal along with over 12 meters of super-heavy Vinculum armor plating and several dozen arrays of smaller offensive weaponry. The dreadnoughts are armed with two tier 4 shock cannons (the most powerful cannon variant), each able to output 420 kilotons of energy with every shot and are able to absolutely decimate any known starship in a single hit; only the heaviest of ships can even hope to survive one hit, and then only barely. The ship also carries four tier 2 cannons, 60 heavy railgun turrets, 45 missile batteries, 42 point defense lasers and 8 silos for WMD missiles.
The level of firepower the dreadnoughts can output in just a minutes time can easily heavy damage an entire fleet of enemy ships, the main 2 cannons guaranteeing a kill with every hit. These gargantuan vessels are fierce combat ships and also highly effective command ships, as a commander can easily coordinate an entire fleet from one of these vessels' massive command center. The dreadnought also takes lessons from the design of the supercarrier, including larger stasis carriages on its ventral surface to carry multiple ships into combat and deploy them at a moments notice. These ships have been said to be excellent candidates for planetary invasions; able to jump into a system, drop several support ships, obliterate any enemy resistance and then deploy legions of ground forces. The ship is also the only non-carrier type vessel in the UES that can carry, house and maintain its own division of fighters.

The ships can take massive amounts of damage before being noticeably slowed or losing combat effectiveness, as seen when the CDV Mammoth took two direct hits from Exohuman battleship particle accelerators in 2352 and remained functional, a barrage that even the UES supercarrier CDV Archangel wasn't able withstand when the Exohumans attacked Earth. And in fact, the Mammoth was able to not only survive, but still managed to fall back and allow the attackers to be destroyed by other UES allies. While being very strong and intimidating ships, the class was not openly revealed and commissioned into service until 2351, which by then some 18 Dreadnoughts were completed. Up until that time, several early and mid-line prototypes of the ship had been deployed to test the technologies and effectiveness of the design, spawning rumors and hearsay from both the UES and its enemies throughout the years of an enormous UES vessel like none other. In the UES's war against the Empire Insurgency, prototype dreadnoughts were deployed several times to key enemy strongholds. One such ship that would later become the CDV Enceladus (the class leader), decimated an entire Empire fleet with nothing but itself and 6 Prometheus-class heavy frigate escorts, eliminating a total of 21 vessels in all.

These prototype trials would be used to influence the finalized versions of the vessels officially commissioned years later. The finalized line of ships were approved just in time to be equipped with newer 4th generation technologies from the brand new Shenyang-class heavy frigate (even though the Enceladus remains to be considered the last of the 3rd generation ships). Now with the dreadnought fully integrated into the military, the UES has a deadly new tool of warfare to help fend off the Exohuman threat. By 2355 in the midst of post Exohuman contact military expansion, the UES had quickly built another 2 dreadnoughts (CDV Bisentō and CDV Kialegee) and under the insistence of Arch Admiral (and Head Commandant of the Navy) Mikhail Selfridge, the Navy had even lent 1 of the ships (the CDV Acheron) to the UDAC fleet which fell under the command of Major General Rice. Nonetheless, the Enceladus dreadnoughts continue to greatly augment the naval power of the UES and their presence tends to strike awe and fear into allies and enemies alike. The Exohumans themselves have shown to be extremely wary of facing down these ships, as even their mighty and very dangerous particle accelerator-armed battleships cannot withstand a single barrage from a dreadnought. This is where the Enceladus shines in combat, able to use its tier 4 cannons to pick off enemy capital ships one by one, destroying the enemy fleet's command structure and letting the remnants fall into complete disarray without heavy support.

The scaling detail at the bottom is a nice touch to the concept - definitely helps put the work into perspective

Thanks! I was hoping it would give a good idea of the ship's insane size, that poor little frigate at the bottom could literally get run over by this thing
