Description
The ship classes of Ancillary Justice, modelled after eusocial insects - termites, ants, and bees respectively. It seemed fitting thematically and I wanted to move away from the flying brick look of typical sci fi. If they look a bit like Serenity, that is no coincidence, as Serenity's design was also inspired by insects .The ships were created using the shape tool in Photoshop Elements. I overlaid textures by galaxiesanddust and SolStock as well as some of my own.

May I say that this is one of the most unique and interesting things I have ever come across in sci-fi. The designs of the ships themselves are very good, but the way you overlayed the corresponding textures is nothing short of fantastic. I could easily imagine this as a promotional poster hanging in the lobby of a ship manufacturer, proudly displaying their flagship models. Simple, elegant, and utterly magnificent!

Thanks! It was fun to work with form over function for once.
