I gave you eyes to see like mine. Legs to wander. A mind to know. Hands to grasp, to reach out open, to clench into fists.

I made you once before. This death is your revision. I will undo the flaws of your crippled corpse and leave you whole again."

The Maker was obsessed. It was his drive to understand. It wasn't enough to observe, and so he created his witness. Eyes and ears, feet and hands. Something that lived like he lived, functioned as he functioned, that could experience the world as he labored endlessly.

Something to exist in his stead, but in the way that things live, things also die, no matter how well-crafted they are.

The rusted creation was worn, and now broken, but its creator still stood. Far from content with its present state, he took up the gauntlet and set in to breathe life back into his wandering vessel.
