Description There are so many different things you can do with pre-existing patterns to get what you want in a costume. This tutorial just lists a few examples, but hopefully it's something that can get you started if you've never tried this before! Some experience with patterns might be required to understand this to the fullest.

Also, please excuse my typos. XD I made this late at night haha.

Sometimes you just have to tweek how they line up and snip the sharp corners and dramatic edges first until you get it just right, and then sew it. When I did my Bruno jacket, I had to snip some of the corners first or else it wouldn't behave while I was pinning it. Since you're using fleece, it's a pretty forgiving material, so I think you can nail it if you keep adjusting how it's pinned until it can lay flay when opened.
