Description
Since the upcoming new ship from Atlantis "the Phoenix" turned out to be another Daedalus class I started my own Daedalus refit.WIP 2

A good start. One question though,
What is the blue tube running along the bottom for? I assume it has something to do with the engines, but I would like to be sure.
Anyway, I think its great. Looks like O'Neil ordered someone to create a ship in honor of the fallen Asgard race and they combined it with an F-304 halfway through. The fins would probably be for sensor equipment, because the Tau'ri seem to prefer to mix form with function. I have no idea what the Asgard used the fins on their ships for as the engines, weapons and teleporters were all in the horizontal parts of their ships rather than the fins.

The tube is a Neutrino-ion generator which is what the old Asgard ships had powering them.

It's coming along nicely. It does look a bit bulky, but that may thin out as you add more details.
so i shall reserve my overall judgement till later but more than likely judging on past results of your modeling skill should something like

From the grace curves of Star Trek, to the angled block of Star wars, I think we can fit stargate and your ships in there quite nicely.
way ot: ever notice how the StarFleet spends time and money on designing graceful curves for their ships for maximum speed, yet every other grace can fly a Brick at high warp speeds?

Well for SF I think itβs more to show that they can spend more time on aesthetics over functionality.
In a way it's to remove the idea that there ships are just for war.

good point. Of course their primary phaser styles blend in more so that's useful instead of just another gunport.

But the thing about phasers is yes they give good coverage but compared to plasma weapons and torpedoes of other races they are relatively weak.
Torpedoes always have been the Feds heavy hitters while phasers were more of the weapon used to disable a target.

As usual your work is excellent, looks like a bit of Asgardian design influence is slipping into your designs for earth ships.

Something just occurred to me. The ring on the bottom looks surprisingly like a Stargate. it would be very interesting as a design feature for a way of calling in reinforcements.

The ring is just part of the design style. It still have detail to be added to the inside of it. (just don't know what yet.)

Hehe well the eldars troops looks far more interesting, more organic.... the spacemarines are mostly big and bulky
