ive been thinking about candy a lot lately...and decided to give him an upgrade, a reform maybe? the loss of pink probably impacted him just as much as the other diamonds, forcing him to 'grow up' a little as the diamond authority toughened well...everything. everything from the prev design still stands, except it applies more to the past pre- and early years of post-pink's death. he's still manipulative and wants his underlings to believe life in his court is the absolute peak of happiness

he maintains the cheery facade he had 5,000 years ago, manipulative and controlling as ever beneath it all. the gems of his court are made to believe that their life on homeworld is already happy and sugary, that they do not need anything else. every little thing must be exactly how he wants it to be, or he flips
treats his subjects like everything and nothing at once. he seems to get along well with a gem one moment, before tossing them aside in the next. sometimes in the literal sense.
only turns on the charm by means of manipulation and/or to look good. getting genuine kindness and respect out of him is extremely rare, and just as difficult at that
he is rather small for a diamond, no more than a head taller than pink. he is also the second youngest.

in his entire life, he only ever had one colony: mars. with what happened with pink, the elder diamonds refused to entrust him with any more planets of his own

due to his cracked gem, his body comes off as 'melty' particularly at the elbow and is unable to regenerate his right arm and legs, which are replaced with limb enhancers. this, along with his height and overall eccentric demeanor, is often the center of the yellow and white's malicious teasing

white maaay or may not have been responsible for cracking his gem. regardless, candy is downright terrified of his eldest sister

he is very insecure about the scar left upon his gem (and the skin surrounding it), keeping it hidden under his overcoat pretty much at all times.
his melty 'skin' is sticky to the touch and gives off a sweet, sugary fragrance
it is rumored the most morbid experiments largely take place at his court.

he created faux pink by fusing different gems into pink diamond remains, multistar quartz through forcibly fusing a phantom quartz and an off-color star sapphire. both were gifts to soothe his grieving sisters and to please white respectively

he and pink were close as siblings, and forces of chaos when placed next together. it was impossible for blue and even yellow to get through their heads. losing her drove him to become more unpredictable and angrier for the next few centuries, at the same time his fellow diamonds offered little comfort-- treating him like a disgruntled teenager who needs to grow up while demeaning him like a child at the same time

he was rather close with eagle diamond[tba] as well. her whereabouts are unbeknownst the the diamonds; candy was never the kind to get attached to anyone easily, and losing both his closest siblings made him all the more emotionally distant
while he's a lotmore obedient to homeworld's basic laws nowadays, candy still bends the rules a little to his own benefit if he thinks he can get away with it.
