Contest Info: Ahem-- This for 's contest.... now for teh description XDMy character Turu is the main subject in this picture becuase he is my mascot, and my favorite original character- thus the character that represents me most. As you can see, he is holding a wound in his side but he is able to look up and see this white butterfly with wings that light up the dark. Turu smiles at it despite the pain that he is obviously going through because the butterfly is a sign that there are better, more beautiful things in the world than pain, pity and sadness. The butterfly then represents hope.
This relates to me because I am going through one of the toughest times in my life right now-- But I know that there is a light to illuminate the shadows of this time. I have my loved ones and my future dreams to live for and that keeps me going strong and happy. My family, friends and love are my white butterfly and the events happening in my present life is my deep wound. But the butterfly is brighter and the wound will eventually heal.

Apart from the fact this IS a most beautiful image, the accompanying text is absolutely fitting and thoughtful. I'll +fav this for both the image and the text. And I wish your hopes to be always brighter than the brightest white butterfly you can draw.

NIce work. I really like his happiness of the presence of the fairy when hes injured like that. Reminds me of the fairy in Zelda! I really like the coloring and outside darknessness of this. The simplicity of the fairy is also well done.

...I've seen some wonderful artwork lately, but this one most certainly takes the cake. ^^
The shimmering butterly really brings out the mood and contrasts very nicely with the other, more pastel colors. And the character's expression shows great emotion.
