I saw a couple guys doing this in Hossegor this summer actually. Quite a strange addition to the line-up! And just weirds me that you paddle in already standing up. My friend joked that as soon as he caught the wave he'd lie down. Anyways, awesome shot, you really captured the point of the wave requiring the most strength. I could never turn such a big board like that!

This style actually came about from a couple of Waikiki Beach Boys that would take pictures of the tourists during their surf lessons. The cameras that they used were not waterproof, so they would take the pictures from standing on huge surfboards and use a paddle to manuever around.
