Description
This was done for the Shuster Awards this weekend. I'm not very good at using water colors but that dang Dustin inspired me to try. It was fun and frustrating all at the same time! Also I regret doing the white out thing, I was trying to make it look like he's coming through some clounds hence only getting a glimpse of a few buildings..but I don't think that effect worked at all.Related content

this is a cool image, reading your description, the only thing I think you didn't do to make this successful, or more successful was to push it and do more of the white paint thing=] this is a good first attempt at watercolors=]

I like how the background doesn't have much detail, but you can still clearly tell what it is and it gets across the perspective and height. Your superman looks gorgeous.
Beautiful as always!

This is an awesome pic! I disagree with you about the cityscape, I think it really works. The subtle suggestions of the buildings works so nicely with the choice of perspective you have goin' on. I like it lots.

My art teacher told me water colors are admired for the translucent look of the color. Just to spite him, I didn't water the paint and just used it as is, have to admit it didn't come out half bad.
Anyway, food for thought.
