Something silly I've done. I've made a couple of female characters I have or had been obsessed with for a longer time in a style similar to the Mega Man series', myself in the middle.The characters are (clockwise; starting at the top left):
Centorea "Cerea" Shianus, from Monsuta Musume no Iru Nichijo.
Hana "D.Va" Song, from Overwatch.
Princess Styla, from The Legend of Zelda: Triforce Heroes.
Isabelle, the secretary introduced in Animal Crossing: New Leaf.
Shantae, the titular character from the Shantae-series.
Princess Zelda Hyrule, from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.
Dawn, from PokΓ©mon Diamond and Pearl and the anime.
Elf Yamada, from Eromanga-sensei.
All characters belong to their respective owners and/or creators. The Mega Man 8 level select screen was recreated, but still belongs to Capcom.

Nice choices, but I'm gonna have to pick Shantae above all the others. The design work is exceptional overall, and it's a fitting homage.

I'm using good old MS Paint. I've been working with it since 2004 and even though there are probably so many better tools to do this with, I will stick to MS Paint like glue. It's kind of raw. No help from tools other than your own skills. I like that.

Isabelle has an easy stage, but a deceptively tricky boss fight. I usually start with Dawn and work my way around.

I've seen that tactic often. Since Centorea's Dash is a little broken and I'm not too skilled a gamer, I like to get her done first and then follow it up with Dawn.
