It's always nice for a centaur to take a trot on a fine day like this, especially with someone you know. Here we see the brothers Meldan and Solnan Vagenor meet each other on their trip.

They're technically half-brothers; same father, different mother. Meldan is the biological son of their mother, and he has inherited he more draft build, although he's much taller than her. His lower half resembles a Nordic Fjord horse, and his hair and mane are remarkable being dark at the base and white at the top. The poor guy is an emotional wreck, struggling with his centaur nature and the stigmas society has about them. Being a centaur engineer is somewhat of a rarity, but Meldan sometimes feels "cursed with intelligence". He isn't fond of humans, as he finds them arrogant and self-centered, dismissing the needs of creatures like him. Due to his occupation, it has forced him to live quite far from his family. More and more he's doubting whether he made the right choice in life. One of the few times he's actually happy is when he is with family.

Solnan, the older brother, was actually an adolescent accident and never meant to be born that early. He was born while his biological mother had broken up with his father (fortunately, not on ill terms), but she wasn't ready take care of him. His dad offered her to take the responsibility on himself along with their current mother. Solnan and his biological mother do meet each other from time to time. Solnan has inherited more traits of his father, like his Friesian black equine rump, curly hair and manes, and a gangly posture. Unlike Meldan, he's laidback and generally quite content with his life. He works as a cameraman for a local TV station, and he's engaged a human journalist, Kylestin, to Meldan's shocking surprise...

Flat shaded scene of two characters of mine from a long story I'm still writing. Both received some minor redesigns. I've never done natural scenery before so that was quite a challenge. I'm not 100% happy with how the trees and clouds came out, but at least it's something.
