Description
I finally managed to get two of my fractal 3D sculptures printed on shapeways.This is a small version of "Mysterium Cosmographicum Fractalium"
It is a weird feeling to hold something in your hand which has been hiding in the mist of mathematics until now… now it is a real world object! Mighty!
I will try to make a bigger more detailed print of it but it is not easy to make this object printable with lots of detail...
Mandelbulb 3D > Fiji > Meshlab > Netfabb

Thank you Jérémie... the other one was a big surprise to get through the printing process, it has very thin branches... will post as soon as I have a nice shot of it!

Seriously, painting the model frosted (ultra) details is a must. The details are really popping up.

For maximum details, it's best to use medium shades around light grey.
