Description
A fractal from the 4th dimension printed in 3D.My first "low cost" (sub 50$) precious metal print and I just love how it came out in bronze.
Again impressed by the casting on Shapeways - so small but full of details.
Mandelbulb3D > Fiji > Meshlab > Netfabb > Shapeways > Your neck.

how r u getting models out of mandelbulb? or are you simply recreating them in other 3D applications? re-draw type of deal...

Export as voxelstack and after that the workflow I already mentioned in my description above ^

Thanks Jared!
It is a fractal mathematical formula 3D printed in bronze...

I'm actually going to upload some of them within the week. I've been told I have a knack for designing. I use a crappy free program called tinkercad.

This looks stunning! And I didn't know you could 3D print in metal, I guess you learn something every day!Β

Thanks!
There are (at least) two different methods, printing with metal powder or printing in wax, make a mold and cast in metal (last method used on this one)

ha ha! i really do XD
3-D printing is such an incredble thing! Do you creat the mold/cast by hand or on a program?

Hmm, I am a big fan of Science fiction from those days... Asimov & co... (good days for SF)
But I must admit I never read Wrinkle in Time. Thanks for the tip!
