I still say they're actually graphical representations of the Einstein-Rosenberg bridges that Derpy uses to get around so well, despite her eyes.
...Or perhaps because of her eyes...

Lately I've been trying to make a lol out of a theory I have surrounding Derpy's cutie mark, but I don't know what would be a good method of execution for this idea.
The idea is: what if Derpy's cutie mark is actually a bunch of clear marbles, and her special talent is that she's lost her marbles?
