I'd suggest hitting the local library, there are a lot of great books out there that teach the basics of figure drawing - and a number of "how to draw" books on comic or cartoon characters will have some basic tips to help you figure out things like proportion and foreshortening. I used to check out those books a lot when I was younger, so perhaps they'll be helpful to you, too? Good luck and keep at it! Best possible thing you can do for your art is just to keep practicing.
