I am ridiculously happy with this. Not at all what I had in mind when I started sketching, but halfway through the shading part I suddenly thought it would be cool to make it look like the gorgeous portraits in the middle of the Brotherhood episodes (you know, like this) But without text, because there wasn't enough space with all three of them there.
I had fun recreating the white border with the alchemy symbols in Photoshop. And I do mean fun. I thought it was going to end in tears just before I started, but it was easier than I thought, and once I pieced it all together I was so happy that I wouldn't have cared even if it had been a pain. Thankfully, I found the title part online; there's no way I could have vectorised that!
It would be nice to draw Hohenheim and a younger Trisha nextβ¦

I was thinking maybe having 3 versions of him on the same image; young slave on one side, as a free older man on the other, and then his more "usual" look in the middle, looking straight at us. I need to think about it some more.

Oh, no worries! I hate being spoiled so I would never do it to someone else. All I can say is that it's a shame you watched the first anime AFTER Brotherhood. Can't say I like him in the first half as much as I do in the manga or in Brotherhood.
