BTW, when you're past the workflow of the modeling stage might want to look into updating. (Seems like bug fixes and cool stuff always being added.)

Silhouette is really good, but it looks like you're missing the edge loops for proper deformation. Though if you're not gonna rig/pose it, that's not really a problem

the basic start to most characters is a cube that they manipulate to become a head because sculpting with triangles in your model is not so fun. You get some really funky spike glitches ^^';

if you are a student you can download 3d studio max for free as well, they give you a three year liscence. Its better to go that route since most people in the industry use it and once you figure out the basics its really straight forward.Β
