Oh it's ink, that's why haha. I prefer ink to watercolour as I find it easier to make brighter, stronger colours. I find watercolours hard too.
And the trick is to go from background to foreground, lightest to darkest. It's a pain coz most people are used to acrylics, where you could almost do whatever you want lol coz you can completely cover up layers with a highlight or whatever.

I didn't have the original colour picture so I didn't know what colour the sand was, but in black and white it was darker so yeah..I wasn't incredibly happy with it but thanks That makes me feel better about it haha

Oh and I know it's tough but....WAIT FOR IT TO DRY FULLY! xD If you don't want that blendy random effect make sure it's dry, sometimes you just have to do it over a few days

That or do what I did, and sit in front of the heater, and hold it up every time you want it to dry xD
