A sneer stole across the older man’s face as the pistol was aimed between his eyes, point blank. He had let his guard down for a moment, taking no defense against the normally docile redhead.

“Lower the gun, boy.” The words were ground out between a clenched jaw.

“N-No!” The pistol trembled with Kyle’s voice.

“You and I both know you won’t pull that trigger-”

“SHUT UP! What d-did you do with him?!” His voice strained to keep it’s volume, shouting at the darker haired man.

“He’s in Poseidon plaza, or course. Locked away so he can no longer poison your mind with doubts. Just like the rest of them.”

“The only one’s mind that’s poisoned is yours! You’ve gone fuckin’ insane you-!” The cool metal was forcibly knocked out of his grip, sending it to the marble floors with a loud clatter in the near silence around them. Kyle gasped as he watched his only weapon fall, whether he was going to shoot it or not, it was still a form of protection against Cohen.

Pale eyes darted back to the face of the artist, irritation replaced with a look akin to rage as his hand drew back before lashing out, colliding hard with the younger mans face. Kyle yelped as the force turned him just away from Cohen, hand cupping the bruising cheek out of reflex.

“What happened, dear child? You used to be such a good boy..” momentary anger vanished, turning to the regret lining his words as he moved a hand towards Kyle once more, this time to cup his chin, turning his head with a rough jerk to face him. Cohen watched him for a moment, sighing exaggeratedly after his words.

“I’m sick of being your pet!” Kyle smacked the hand away from his face, eyes widening at his own outburst. The artist’s eye widened in turn, if only for a moment before the hazel orbs peered through slits, anger turning Cohen’s lips back into a sneer.

The younger man barely kept himself from freezing on the spot, turning on his heel to flee from Cohen, fire now crackling violently between the elder’s fingertips.

“YOU’VE BECOME A DOUBTER, LITTLE LARK, AND NOW YOUR WINGS MUST BURN!” The artist’s enraged shout echoed through the halls as Kyle sprinted away, hoping to escape the man he once admired.
