Wow! Good job! I like dinosaurs too! Carnotaurus is my favorite land dinosaur! I also like carcharodontosaurus, baryonyx, ceratosaurus, tyrannosaurus rex, and spinosaurus but I like carnotaurus best!

Love the detail on the head.
Though the position and scaling of the hands bother me.

Lovely details ^_^ I've looked through your gallery and you have awesome depictions of different dinosaur species. Great job on this one. Isn't the largest carnivorous dinosaur so far?

Thank you very much for your comments. I used to draw dinos in that way, using the pencil for all the details... then, when I started to work with Photoshop, my drawings started to turn very simple, since most of the work was made on the PC. This one was made trying to return to my previous style.
Carcharodontosaurus saharicus is one of the destroyed dinos, along with the worlwide known Spinosaurus aegypticus, when a bomb destroyed the museum where it was stored. More recently, North American Palaeontologist Paul Sereno discovered new specimens of this one, including skull remains. And yes, this animal was big. Few years ago, this one was the unique challenger of Tyrannosaurus rex for the place of biggest carnivorous dinosaur but, since it is not very complete, stimated size can make it larger or smaller.
Later, several south american discoveries revealed an important fauna of giant meat eaters: the Huge Giganotosaurus carolinii, and the (scarcely) smallers Mapusaurus roseae and Tyrannotitan chubutensis (I love that name). Of these, Giganotosaurus was the biggest (including the rex and the Carcharodontosaurus). Furthermore, the discovery of a partial jaw of Giganotosaurus (bigger than the original!!) proclaimed it the biggest!!!....
Until quite recently, some people (I dont remember the name...) discovered a new specimen of Spinosaurus aegyptiacus (a partial snout) and, when they made comparisons with other creatures included in its family (Family Spinosauridae: Baryonyx walkeri, Suchomimus tenerensis, Irritator challengeri (which probably is the same as Angaturama limai) and several ones referred to Spinosaurus), estimated it's body size in 18 meters, at least 4 meter longer than Giganotosaurus (with was the longer...) making the Spinosaurus the biggest meat eater dinosaur (til now).
Whoa, this was long!! hope you are not sleep after reading all that...
One more interesting data, is that Giganotosaurus, Carcharodontosaurus, Tyrannotitan and Mapusaurus belong to the Family Carcharodontosauridae, and almost all of them (and the rex, wich is in the Family Tyrannosauridae) have a similar size, between 13 or 14 meters, as if there where a natural size limit...
Sorry for this long talking!!!

No it didn't put me to sleep ^_^ I like this dinosaur stuff and would bore people to ages about this stuff. I didn't know that about Spinosaurus. I guess Jurassic Park III was partially right. My favorite dinosaurs generally lean towards the smaller meat eaters though, like Dinonycus[I know I spelled that wrong] And Troodon.
I learned some stuff though. I had no idea that Baryonyx was in the same family as Spinosaurus. I guess that would make sense since it had a narrow snout for fishing, like the narrow snouts that most dinosaurs have in that family. Also, I didn't know that one of the only Carcharodontosaurus specimins in existence was destroyed in a bomb. That was too bad, many things could have been learned.
