Description well, almost all of the genera included in this image. Araripesaurus and Araripedactylus were not included because they are very fragmentary, and a reconstruction of them would be VERY (I mean, VERY) hypotetical. Nyctosaurus lamegoi, due it is probably included in an incorrect genera, was excluded too (and, what is more, I donΒ΄t have any figures of it to make the drawing).

I think that I finished with these Brazilian pterosaurs... well, maybe there would be some sketches... but not colored... I must start with the rest of the drawings (mainly in B&W, in an skectchy way) for the book. (and some other Brazilian Mesozoic beasts for another project...)

Pterodaustro is Argentinian, and I tried to show only Brazilian pterosaurs

Argentina? I thought they'd show up in brazil since it appeared to be a pterosaur haven. Argentina seems like it was more desert than coastal back then.

There are some pterosaurs from Argentina, such as Pterodaustro and Aerotitan. They may have lived in lacustrine environments too

Very impressive work! But where's Ornithocheirus? BTW if you want information on Nyctosaurus, you can read about it here--->[link]

Late reply:

You're right! Ornithocheirus is completely missing...
In fact, this was a project for a book (which finally resulted based on dinos only).

Ups!!!!

I'm not sure, but Tropeognathus mesembrinus is the same as Ornithocheirus mesembrinus (I'm not sure which one is valid)

Thanks for the comment!!

Pterosaurs aren't my favourite fossil beasts...

Lovely job. Pterosaurs are really cool. I'm drawing a picture of a human/pterosaur hybrid. I thought it would be cool because they still have fingers, so we could fly and handle stuff at the same time. ^^ This was quite helpful.

I'm going for a more artistic style than anatomically correct. I like your poses. Thanks for the link.

I think Ptersoaurs in general were pretty wierd. But y'know, so were them gliding reptiles of the paleozoic

Cool job ,
now if only there was a human standing there to show size comparison...

maniraptora In reply to raptor-cut [2006-05-19 12:20:54 +0000 UTC]

mmmm... well.... the problem is that all of them arenΒ΄t at the same scale... that was a fast copy-and-paste stuff, and I didnΒ΄t check the sizes of them.... the idea was to show all of them, but without taking care of the size. Maybe, in the future, IΒ΄ll do another, with the animals at the same scale, and with an human figure for comparison!!
Thanks!!!!!!!
