Descending Vixens - Fox Invasion

Part 1: Warriors of Ancient:Fox Invasion 1The mountains were covered in snow even to their bottoms tho the rest of the land was spared of a heavy fall. Slowly but surely, many predators were making their way down the slopes in one direction or another. To find food, warmth.. But none so massively as the foxes who inhabited the fir forest streatching all around the mountain side. Prey was scarse and the red-furred vulpines were already entering Beastclan territory. They were spreading out in different directions. Going for the mice or rabbits that could be found. Some more eager ones even crosse the river into Guardclan, to hunt the birds nesting everywhere in the thick forest. One of the red foxes was sniffing around the ground, at a common hunting area for Guardclanners.
The large mostly grey animal lifted his nose from the rocky turf when he noticed a scent. Mouse. His head came up, wide brown eyes gleaming as he tried to catch it again. His ribs stuck out from his sides when he breathed in and his thin frame nearly trembled

Part 2:

It had been a couple of days now and the foxes were thriving on the territories. Both Guardclan and Beastclan were hastily sending out patrol after patrol to halt the sweeping menace, stealing their prey. Crockedjaw wasn't letting them all get away alive tho and neither were the angry Guard warriors.

It seems every cat had their fur in a bundle now. Amberstar could barely sleep knowing the vixens could reach the camp at some point. Night patrols of warriors changing once in a while were guarding the camps of the disturbed clans.
But one thing they were all asking themselves was..

Why is this happening? No other Leaf bare had brought down so many foxes at once, no matter how dry and cold. Even stranger, this time around the season was softer on the wildlife. Something else had occurred in the mountains, somewhere on top or the other side.

Amberstar's ears prickled when he heard his deputy talking outside his den. It was the little moment of rest he had gotten that was about to be shattered. The noon hour was the best time for the clans to relax a little.
Ashenspring was agitated and appeared to be angry at someone out there. It's been tough on the deputies, they've had to co-ordinate the patrols at to guard the right places at the right times.

The medicine dens were treating patient after patient, especially in Beastclan. Those warriors don't fuck around, they want the foxes to pay. Although there were no real casualties just yet. Mostly scratches, bruises and bites.

The damage was on the prey. The kill piles were smaller and smaller every day. Either because there were few warriors available to hunt in between chasing away the foxes, or they were already exhausted. Beastclan in particular was struggling to keep everyone fed. As a result, only their warriors weren't without a single bite a day.

''What is it?'' Amberstar asked as he walked up behind Ashenspring. She informed him that there was an apprentice who wanted to talk to him immediately. ''Let him in then.'' His rest has been put aside. Whatever it was, it needed to be attended. The proud leader couldn't let his duties get sidetracked just because he was tired.
With annoyance, Ashenspring bushed against his side for comfort before she left. They could both do well with some time alone to cuddle and forget about this ordeal.

A dark blue and cream tom cat entered the leader's den. Amberstar smiled as he realized it was Guardclan's own prodigy that had requested to visit him. ''What can I do for you Hollowpaw?'' he asked, sitting down in front of the apprentice. Hollowpaw was a bit uneasy tho and his stare seemed to jump from this to there around the wide den. ''Well, um..'' he was unsure how to begin, but he had to show more promise in front of the leader.

Hollowpaw puffed up and cleared his throat lightly before picking up his thought once more. ''I know the fox problem is a bit out of hand. So I think I make have a solution about that.'' His words ran a bit monotoned, but he was confident enough to believe he was onto something.
Amberstar's attention snapped and his smile went serious. Surely the genius of the clan could possibly hold the answer to the problem. He quickly called Ashenspring back in the den to listen in and give an opinion. She sat next to him, curiously but a bit annoyed at the apprentice for disturbing her mate's rest.

Confidence spiraled even more in Hollowpaw's eyes as he had gained the ears of his clan. He usually doesn't pay them much time of his day.
''I'm not sure you will be very welcoming, but hear me out'' he began, drawing puzzled looks from the leader and deputy. ''So Beastclan has it just as bad as us.. we need to work together in order to drive out the foxes'' he pause waiting for responses. It was clear as day that Ashenspring wasn't pleased with the idea, it was ll there written on her face. Amberstar frowned ''What do you mean? What is your plan?''

Hollowpaw gulped before continuing ''We form a temporary alliance and use our bigger number to scare them away for good.'' he sighed, clearly the atmosphere was heavy in there. ''Those Beastclanners have some scary mugs, eh?'' he tried to sound more jokingly, but the elder warriors listening to him did not break the seriousness ''Soo..'' the apprentice prolonged, his eyes dropping again to fit the scene ''We form a few lines and attack the foxes. The aim being to scare them back in the mountains and make sure they don't come back''

''That seems impractical and incomplete'' Amberstar cut him off ''Firstly, Crockedjaw would never agree to let us come so deep in his territory.'' Ashedspring nodded, ''Second, what are these lines? I did not understand that part?''
Hollowpaw had to look away for a moment, it seemed the pressure was getting to him. ''Just a few groups of cats, mixed clan members, who specifically search out foxes and chase them away.. doesn't have to be back to the mountains.. just out of our territories.. Because I've seen it, foxes won't try to fight groups of us who exceed 4 members.'' his eyes shined as he faced the leader ''That's why we need Beastclan, because we don't have enough members! This needs to happen all at once!'' he stood on his feet, voice rising in volume ''Each groups of cats will take their place near the ends of the territories and begin the chase at a certain time they will all be able to tell, no matter their position'' he took a breath ''The fear we induce will cause the foxes to call out, alerting other foxes of the sudden danger, thus causing them to also flee.'' he finished and huffed, looking down at the ground.

Amberstar and Ashenspring faced each other with wide eyes. The apprentice sure got lively. As he thought about it, the leader couldn't really say it was a bad plan. The only problem being how to convince Crockedjaw. But surely the dark-pelted brother would have to agree, as his situation could be worse than their due to the general lack of good prey.
Amberstar smiled and determination showed form him. ''This is the best deal we've got.'' he nodded to the deputy who was still a bit skeptical, but it really was the best they had at the time. ''I will meet with Crockedjaw immediately.'' Amberstar spoke just as quickly as he left the den. Before proceeding he turned back to give the apprentice a wink ''Thank you for the input Hollowpaw.''
''Sure..'' Hollowpaw's ears were hanging low. Ashenspring bumped him on the back to get up and go outside with her, to see if Tigerstripe is back from patrol and leave mentor and apprentice together.

Crockedjaw was doing all he can to contain the situation, however a fox had already been able to reach their camp. It was brutally slayed of course, with the body at a nice distance in front, left as a warning but far enough so it didn't stink up the camp. It was Lockstep's idea.

The Beastly leader had been informed his brother wanted to meet. He could guess the reason, tho he wasn't sure why Amberstar would call him at this time. Both clans seemed to be coping somehow, even if it wouldn't last long. Crockedjaw decided to lend an ear. It couldn't be worse than the situation they were already in and if it were anything interesting, he could bargain to strike some sort of deal beneficial to his clan, other than clearing out the foxes.

The Leaders set out for The Rocks of Reckoning. All their warriors were left to the territories, scrambling to contain the situation.

The next is a rp between Amberstar and Crockedjaw.
After that we pick it up in chat again, this weekend or the next!

The picture was not what I originally had in mind for this, but it just sort of happened. I was practicing BGs xD
So have this calm Hollowpaw to go along with the story, which is about his idea anyway so it still kinda fits.
