For some reason this really makes me think not of some evil dentist trying to slaughter your tooth decay no matter the cost, but rather a gas masked Dr. Satan(from House of 1000 corpses) trying out a different field of anatomy(your mouth) I've never seen the movie fully but I've seen plenty of small clips to have seen a scene not too dissimilar to this one!

They just weren't experienced. They had no idea what they were doing, or how to use their tools. How they even got their license was a mystery. No permanent damage or anything, but there was a lot of blood.
