Very good. That's what I hoped for.
Check for "Salsa Invertebraxa", it's a graphic novel about two insects (fantasy insects based on real ones, methinks), undergoing a slightly -well,very- cryptic adventure, which, as m0zch0ps told me, was intended. He (she?) said it was supposed to be an enigma.
Another one of us (us deviants) you probably know, or want to know if you don't, would be melvynyeo ,who's a gifted insects photographer like you, with a certain love for his macro lens. He's from, I think Indonesia, Southeast Asia at least, where he shoots the most astonishing night photos of insects, for example.
His shots of wolf spiders (as they're called in German, at least) are,in my opinion, absolutely legendary.
Great to meet you, John!

Thank you for all the info, much appreciated. I already do follow melvynyeo and like you say his work is just outstanding. I am no where near his league in macro photography but I use his amazing images as inspiration. If I can ever get as good as him I'll be more than happy.
Its good to speak with you as well

Hm.OK, Yeo really has a trick to his shots. I can't really say I'm an an expert, neither in the field of insects nor in photography, so when it comes to insect shoots (photos in general for the most part), it's mostly the technique and choice of subject I see and judge, being the painter and sculptor I am.
So, from this point of view,I can't really see how you have to still get as good as him.
In my eyes you are.

Your really too kind but thank you. I personally see his work as on a completely different level to mine. I think its probably because I mainly work in a studio environment stacking large numbers of images to get a single picture. He produces just beautiful work with around the same amount of detail and does so in a natural setting also catching their behaviour. I just find it all very impressive.
I am however currently practicing macro outdoors daily myself now so hopefully I'll improve what I feel has thus far been lacking in my work.Β
Thank you again for your compliment though Im genuinely very flattered.

A perfect and stunning shot. A great photo, I love how you caught some of the pollen in the left corner while most of the rest of the photo is taken by the head alone.

Thanks a lot, Ive been trying to think of macro in a portrait sense lately. A small hint of the surroundings and then the insects face being the rest of the image. Its challenging but I'll be trying to continue with this theme in the future. Thanks again

Please do continue to do so, because you have stunning results that I certainly enjoy to look at.
And of course you're welcome.
