Wow, a bit of a nothing deviation here... Just a spinning coin for the game I'm working on, 'Project Run'. Sorry for spamming with junk like this!
Frame by frame animation drawn in illustrator/photoshop (no 3D). 8 frames total.

Coin looks good! I'm not eager to do this comment because players probably won't even notice: but that's only half an animation. You're still missing the flipside, and maybe it is because I work a lot with animation; but its really noticeable to me.
then again it's noticeable to me, so players maybe won't even care.

Thanks for the comment! I actually noticed that myself. I know that most coins normally have 2 different sides (heads and tails), but this one I wanted to make with just the '$' symbol on both sides for simplicity. Especially given that it will be quite small on the iphone screen. What do you think?

Hmm.
They kinda resemble a lot like the gold coins as seen in the Super Mario series... well, except for the dollar sign on them.

I guess it does! The funny thing is that I didn't even look at the Mario coin for inspiration! I guess it's just so deeply etched in my brain from years of playing Mario games!
