Jupiter is the name the romans gave to Zeus while ncient greeks call him... well... Zeus!! So i made Romans and Hercules refering him in different ways!! Muscle Growth nut comics... now historically accurated!!Β

But I hope you will forgiveΒ my presumption on critiquing the English, in the speech bubbleΒ for the Centurion should read: I will find and when I do, you will all beΒ food for the lions! Or better that you get lost in Gaul, by Jupiter!

Call me a nut with this sort of thing, but I do remember attempting Latin lessons for a quarter of my sophomore year in High School, and the one thing that did stick when learning proper Latin is the following pronunciation guide:
V = English W
AE =
C = K
I = either Y as in "Yes" (at start of words) or long E if in the middle
A = AH
U = OOH
O = OH
From this list, can anyone give me the proper pronunciation of the Roman Emperor's name

In italian is Giulio Cesare, in ancient latin is Julius Caesar. I suppose in english you could read "You-lee-uh-s Sees-ar".

I always loved Eddie Izzard's skit about how we don't really know what the different Roman accents sounded like, even if we know the basics of how they talked. As if, from just our writing someone tried to figure out the difference between the American Redneck and the Upper Class British accents. So he made a ridiculous guess about what it might have sounded like. Now, in my head, that's always how I imagine Romans talking.

It's pretty fun because i'm from Rome and sometimes people thinks that we talk ancient latin today, it's like go to Greece and speak in ancient greek!!
By the way, probably could sound weird but in Italy the Asterix toons are translated and dubbed, and the romans talks with roman today dialect. It's hilarious, for us, but absolutely absurd for everyone out of Italy.Β
