how do you get your colors and values to look so smooth and natural?

Im painting in gray scale with a round regular brush ,other dynamics,low opacity pressure and flow.After that in each area I paint I use smudge tool for blending and when this is ready I add sometimes the : add noise>median,in a low number.I hope that helps!

Sorry if I have my responce to your art wasn't scared, creeped, or ect-- my mentality apparently is attracted to the odd and strange, so hence forth: no heebie jeebies.
But how you twisted his face (& left shoulder) around and mixed it up is very intrigueing and eye-catching--- I couldn't stop stareing! (fatal attraction!! *laughs*) Speaking of fatal, is the end of his left hand (or whatever is left of it) a peice of bone? Or is it some type of weapon or object that he just happened to murge with? OH-- and also, love the detailed veins (or is it drule?) on his tongue!....
I need to stop looking at his tongue.

Could use some more brilliant white dots on the tongue and such, to make it more "slimy/sticky"
