I'm sure you've noticed that, depending on the manufacturer, the grip ridges on the rim of the cups vary. Sometimes they're grouped in 3, sometimes they're just 1 every half-inch (such as the ones in this picture).
Can you tell ahead of time, when you're ordering a pair of goggles, what kind of ridges they'll have?
I'm assuming you get them online, as opposed to walking into a retailer.

Actually I do get them from a local outlet, who's been really great to me. The ridges differ by brand, and I have used both, each has there own unique feel.
