Description
If you have read the amazing books by Robert Jordan, the Wheel of Time series, you should be able to recognize these three guys (I hope... XD). This is my interpretation of the main heroes of the story: Matrim Cauthon with his extraordinary luck, Rand al'Thor, the Dragon Reborn, and Perrin Aybara, whose connection with wolves is a special ability he's got.I didn't get them 100 % the way I see them when I read the books, but it's close enough. I have a pure pencil-version of this picture as well in my Elfwood-gallery , but I think they look better with the colours I added digitally.

This really portrays the essence of the characters. I find Perrin's axe quite intricate and it subtly stands out to me. If I found anything to complain about it would be Mat's portrayal. He would have richer clothing, flamboyant clothing. It is a good earlier book depiction but, if the Dragon has a noble garb, Mat should have some more frills.

Glad you like it! This is a more proper drawing than the little quickie of Rand, to it probably looks better (even though it is quite old now). I plan to make some more proper WoT drawings as soon as I get time, I just have to finish a bunch of other projects first

I haven't finished the books either (still halfway through book 11), but I plan on reading the rest as soon as I get time. They are already standing in my bookcase, just waiting for me to read them

I finished the Hobbit a couple of weeks ago, and it is great! Before I can continue reading all of my lovely books, I have to finish a lot of drawings for my portfolio, though. So much to do, and so little time!

About my portfolio: I'm going to apply for a couple of art scools, and they require certain things in the portfolios - things I don't really have. I have to draw lots of life drawings/still life, perspective, backgrounds etc., all before the deadline. I'm also going to participate in an art contest with a deadline, so I have quite a lot to do!

One thing is bugging me. Mat's weapon isn't a spear. It is a sword on the end of a quarterstaff. When you redo the pic, please fix that.

Very well done. Like you said, not spot-on to the character, but close. Very close.
I'd just say - I thought mat's hat was wider brimmed, and rand's face is a little... smaller XD i don't know, well done.
