Meet the latest addition to the FLS staff, Mark Foster, aka Raven. I'm not going to say much about him, you'll learn about him in time.

He arrived with his horse, Cosmic Blast [link]

Story
"Aithne, who's this new guy who's arriving next week?" Adam asked over the phone. He had been left to deal with a lot of the admin while the stable owner was away, and he was mildly disturbed by the new staff member.
"Mark Foster. Lovely lad, he is," she said casually, clearly distracted by something else, Adam was guessing a horse of some sort.
"Yeah, he looks lovely. Did you know he's been in prison?"
"I do know, he's on probation." Adam fell silent and then sighed.
"Probation? You are kidding, aren't you?"
"He got locked up for drug offenses. He's perfectly nice, just a bit misled."
"I'm sure," Adam said with a frown, looking at the picture of this so-called 'Raven'.
"Anyway, I must go, make him feel welcome. Oh and also, he's bringing his horse."
"Fantastic," Adam moaned. "See you soon."
"Yeah, bye." As Adam hung the phone up he grumbled to himself heading out of the office with the staff file in hand.

When the small trailer arrived the following week, Adam felt himself wondering what this man would be like. He was young, only 21, and had already served a short time in prison for various drug offenses. Adam worried for the safety of their own staff, but he couldn't have been more surprised when he met the man.
"Hey!" Mark said brightly as he climbed out of his battered land rover and held out his hand to Adam. The foal trainer shook hand with this new man.
"Hey, Mark." The man was tall and thin with messy black hair that gleamed blue in the light. Adam also noticed the small lip piercing.
"It's great to meet you. I brought my horse, if that's okay. His name is Cosmic Blast," Mark grinned and went to unbolt the trailer.
"Yeah, that's fine. He'll be staying in the stallion barn," Adam said as he went to help unload the horse. Cosmic Blast really was something to behold. He was made out of muscle and his coat was a dark dun in colour, yet his mane and tail were satin-like in texture and well groomed. "Well, he really is something," Adam mused as he looked the horse over.
"Thanks. I've had him since he was young, trained him up. He went to a friend's stable while I was away, didn't get the training he needed, got treated badly. Needless to say they aren't my friend any more," he said with a dry laugh, rubbing the stallion's neck affectionately.
"What's his discipline?" Adam was curious. The stallion appeared to have some Thoroughbred in him, yet he was also slightly heavier set than a race horse, possibly with some large warmblood mixed in.
"He's a jumper, and he's pretty good at it," Mark laughed patting Cosmic's neck before leading him on out of the trailer. He unloaded calmly and lifted his head to look around.
"Bring him this way, we have a stable ready for him," Adam said with a smile. Maybe this Mark guy wasn't too bad afterall. He seemed polite enough, but they'd soon see how he behaved.
