Description
RPS Michelangelo x FLS MythicaThe secret breeding revealed, the second image of the Summer of Love. Originally when I was looking for a stallion I wanted one with bloodlines, just so the foal would be super special, but then I saw what foal this pairing could produce, and that sold it for me. So here we have it, my breeding of the year. Why is it super special? Keep track of my story and you'll find out soon enough. Btw, Cursey, I'm sorry I drew Mike looking a bit short and fat D: It was a bit of a perspective experiment, and it failed xD he looks chunky haha
The Story
The door to the house burst open as Aithne darted out of the building, slice of toast in hand as she rushed over to the parking field. She had just got the call she had been waiting for all morning. Lee had called her from the gates to tell her that the RPS truck had arrived. At last. It had been months in the making, Aithne's perfect covering. Sonnet had already been covered by Robin, but Aithne felt that it was also time for Mythica to bear a foal, her and Sonnet having grown up together since they were born. The woman had searched long and hard for the right sire for her beautiful Pasodale (as she liked to call the funky little cross-breed), and had finally found it. She had contacted Royale Pirate Stables to see if they had any stallions up for stud that they could borrow to cover Mythica. Out of the list of studs, one had stood out. He was about as funky as Myth, with a mane and tail to die for and beautiful rich colouring. He was bound to create a beautiful foal with Myth.
The truck was just pulling to a halt in the field, its brakes squeaking slightly as it stopped on the soft grass. Aithne could hear the thudding of hooves in the back of the truck, and her heart began to pound as it usually did when she was about to meet a lovely stallion. She reached out to shake the hand of the young man who had brought the stallion, he said his name was William, and he appeared to be a polite young man. “I'll just get him unloaded,” he said with a grin, going around to the back of the truck with Lee. The two men unbolted the ramp and lowered it. Aithne wandered around to take a look, and grinned as she saw the male horse stood boldly at the back of the trailer. He was eyeing them all suspiciously, his fluffy forelock hanging over his eyes as he snorted loudly. He wasn't much bigger than Mythica height wise, but he was much more bulky and could clearly throw his weight around.
“The email from your boss said he could be a bit... of a man?” Aithne queried cautiously. William nodded and walked up the ramp towards the stallion.
“He's just a bit of a stallion, you know, barges and butts heads with others a lot,” he said rather casually. Aithne nodded slowly and moved away from the ramp as the young lad untied the horse and led him towards the exit of the trailer. The Haflinger thudded down the ramp with an arrogant swagger to his gait, and it was then that Aithne knew she had made the right choice. “Ma'am, I'd like you to meet Michelangelo,” William said cheerfully, holding onto the head collar as the stallion lifted his head and looked around at his new surroundings. Isadore whinnied across at him from the next field, and he returned with a shrill cry.
“He's lovely,” Aithne chuckled, running a hand across his strong neck. Yes, he was most definitely perfect for Mythica. “Bring him this way, we'll put him in the mare and foal field until Myth's ready,” she said as she beckoned William to follow her. The man nodded with a smile and led Mike on, the stallion's heavy hooves thudding softly on the grass.
The Haflinger quickly made himself at home, galloping around the small paddock with his tail in the air. He could smell the mares and the other stallions and was going a bit wild about it, but other than that he appeared comfortable and happy. They waited until he began grazing, calm and happy in the cool breeze of the afternoon. “So, can I see the mare?” The lad from RPS asked as they watched Mike chase after a bird, tail fanning out behind him like a cream banner.
“Sure, she's just over here.” Aithne led the way across the yard to Myth's stable. The mare was having her last checkup from Lee before she was covered. Her fading coat was clean and gleaming, her mane and tail thick but well-brushed. She looked perfect for her first ever covering. “This is Myth. She's a Paso Fino cross Clydesdale,” Aithne laughed and glanced at William's rather surprised expression. “Don't ask how it happened, even I don't know.”
“She's lovely,” he said as he reached forwards to stroke her out-stretched nose. Myth was always the curious one, eager to get to know people, always happy to make new friends.
“She's looking good,” Lee said as he ran his hands one last time over her stomach. “I think she's ready to go, I'll go get Adam.” Aithne nodded and led William back to the fence of the paddock. Mike was now perfectly settled in, grazing on the long grass near the trees. The mare and foal field had become rather overgrown due to the lack of foals recently, but Aithne hoped that soon that would all change. She had a soft spot for babies.
After a few minutes, there was the clatter of hooves on the yard as Adam led Myth out of her stable and towards the field. She plodded along happily next to the man, her soft feathers seeming to gleam in the sunlight. The wind tossed her mane and tail about as she lifted her head at the scent of a new horse. She whinnied to Mike, who lifted his head and returned the call, cantering over towards the fence as the mare neared. He seemed eager and friendly, his ears perked forwards as he jostled slightly at the gate. William hopped into the paddock to back the stallion away and give the mare some room to actually get into the field. Aithne watched as Adam led the grey mare in and closed the gate behind him. Myth watched the stallion's every move, and Mike tried to barge past William only to be held back firmly. Firelight strongly believed in natural coverings, and if there was no initial bad attitudes towards each other, mares and stallions would often be turned out into a paddock together. They did not like to force a breeding onto a horse, and in a reasonably sized paddock horses could easily put distance between each other. Adam slipped Myth's head collar off gently and stepped back as she pranced away, her tail held high in a flirtatious manner. Mike took up chase, careering after her as she broke into a gallop across the field. Aithne laughed slightly, Myth seemed to have it all under control as she bucked and bolted away from the stallion. It was all playful, evident by the mare slowing down to a prancing trot just long enough for Mike to get nice and close before she bolted off again. Myth played her game for quite some time before she finally slowed to a halt and turned to look at the stallion. Mike halted beside her, the wind tossing his thick mane and tail about. Aithne grinned to herself as the two horses reached out to touch noses curiously. Not all coverings were so nice, but for some reason this one seemed so magical.

I'm glad you like it x3 And yes, maybe he needs to lose a bit of weight xD although chunky horses are adorable.
The foal is totally gonna be at loadsa shows so maybe they'll run into each other it's be so epic.
This is good :3 a lot of breedings are so controlled, but I think it's good for horses to do it naturally ^^ only if it's safe, of course. I'd never let a psychotic stallion into a field with a nice mare >.<
