     It was moons since her meeting with Crowfeather, and Leafpool couldn't get her guilt out of her mind. What have I done? she thought. What if someone finds out?
     She stared are her obviously plump belly, and felt another mixture of happiness and guilt. These are my kits, my kits....but I'm not suppose to have kits.
     Leafpool couldn't fall back asleep, so she got up and padded into the camp. Should I tell Firestar? She couldn't help asking herself. What will he think?
     She knew it was the right thing to do, but she couldn't bring herself to confess. After all, he wasn't just the leader of Thunderclan, but also her father. And I'm a medicine cat, she thought to herself. This wasn't suppose to happen.
     The only cat that knows is Crowfeather. She felt she had to tell someone close to her, but couldn't decide who. Then it hit her like a blow from a cats sharp claws-Squirrelflight! She was Brambleclaw's mate, and it was about time she should begin to have kits. Leafpool thought carefully, and decided it was right. I must tell Squirrelflight.
     She padded to the warriors den, relief flooding over her when she noticed that Squirrelflight was the first awake, grooming herself. She looked up. "Hi, leafpool. Whats wrong?" There was worry showing in her eyes, she could obviously tell there was something wrong.
     "I need to talk to you." Leafpool said quietly. "Meet me in my den."
     Squirrelflight nodded obediently. "Alright." Leafpool padded back to her den, and sat with her tail curled around her paws. She had some time to think of how she should confess in words before Squirrelflight entered.
     "So," She meowed, "What's troubling you?" Her eyes shone with sympathy, waiting for an answer. Leafpool let out a long sigh, and began her confession.
     "You-you remember when I left Thunderclan to be with Crowfeather?" Leafpool started, her voice shaking.
     "Yes, I remember." Squirrelflight replied, looking even more worried. "You-you don't want to go back, do you?" She asked hesitantly.
     Leafpool shook her head. "Of course not. I know I'm meant to be here. But that's not what I wanted to tell you." Leafpool beckoned Squirrelflight closer, so she was sure no other cat could hear her. "I....I'm going to have kits, Squirrelflight..." She breathed softly, almost too quiet to hear herself. Squirrelflight looked at her in shock. There was a long, uncomfortable silence. Squirrelflight finally broke the silence.
     "I'm...so sorry." She pressed her muzzle to Leafpool's flank, in an effort to comfort her. "But don't worry," She meowed. "No one has to know."
     "How? Its not possible to hide kits!" Leafpool wailed misrably.
     "But it is." Squirrelflight replied. "I have an idea." She beckoned Leafpool closer. "Heres what we'll do...."

     It had not been long since Leafpool confessed to Squirrelflight. And Leafpool knew it was time-her pain had increased, and she had begun panting. She waited desperately for Squirrelflight to come, since she had been checking on her many times ever since her confession. Finally, which seemed like seasons, Squirrelflight entered.
     Before Leafpool could speak, Squirrelflight had already realized. "Lets go."
     As they padded out the the den quickly, Squirrelflight meowed loud enough for the closest cat to hear, "So what herb are we getting?" Leafpool was grateful for her attempt to hide their secret.
     They padded out of the camp before anyone could say anything, and headed for the lake. No one was going to go on a patrol near the lake yet, thank Starclan.
     As Leafpool settled in a little nest Squirrelflight had made for her, she waited for the kits to come.
     After what seemed like moons, Leafpool felt a stab of pain hit her. She was careful not be heard, but she couldn't help moaning. The pain was excruciating, but she was determined to go on.
     Squirrelflight let out a sigh of relief. The first kit had come. As Squirrelflight licked it, Leafpool kept working.
   After a long while, everything was over. All the kits were safe and healthy after she examined them, and purred loudly in delight. She had almost forgotten that know one was suppose to know. She sighed as she picked one up after thorough grooming. "Lets go back to camp."
     As they returned, cats surrounded them and congradulated Squirrelflight. Thank StarClan, Leafpool thought. No one suspects it.
     They carried them to the nursery, where Ferncloud was nursing her kits.
     Squirrelflight dipped her head in greeting has she and Leafpool set the kits down to speak. "I didn't make any milk," Squirrelflight meowed. "Can you nurse my kits?"
     Ferncloud nodded, Leafpool was relieved that she didn't ask questions.
     "Thank you." Leafpool meowed, and padded out of the den, with Squirrelflight at her heels.
     "What do you want me to name them?" She whispered.
     Leafpool hadn't thought about that. Then she replied, "You decide. Whatever you choose, I will accept."
     Squrrelflight nodded and padded quickly to Brambleclaw. Leafpool sighed, and padded to her den. She curled up in her nest and closed her eyes. She finally let sleep overcome her at last.
