I really like something about this - I think it's the texture, but also I love his expression. I see what you mean about cartoony, but at the same time I like it like that! I love how he's lit, and the colour usage.

he's lovely, i love bears. i don't think it's cartoony because of his smile, i think it's his eyes that look quite human...but i dont think that's a bad thing, just how i see his personality. but then non human animals do remind me of humans sometimes, so its certainly not a criticism of your work.
i really like the control you have of coloured pencil. it's certainly an under appreciated medium at the moment.

hehe i love bears tho, i do think they get a lot of bad press, so your friendly bear is a great pr bear! ...and indeed, indeed i do know how difficult coloured pencils are, i'm at the kid stage of learning to colour in the lines and not pressing as hard as i can

Heh, it is hard to work in layers rather than pressing down as hard as you can. XD I got kind of to that point with this one...I just wanted to mash the darn cells of the paper down...

what do you mean not fabulous!?! YOUR INSANELY INCREDIBLE!!!! But, since I'm an artist too, like all of us artists, there will be 1 in a million or our peices that we will actually like or be proud of. In other words think its perfect. And then when we see other peoples stuff we always think that it's the best in the world and that it's way better than our own.
