What I really like about this piece is that you didn't use hard lines to define the edges of the face and let your shading do the work for you. It makes it look like a little fox hiding in the foliage. Very nicely done!!!

Thanks, that's what I was hoping for! I cleaned it up a little bit more and matted it, and I added a bit more to the area around him to hopefully enhance that hiding-in-the-brush idea.

I think all, or at least most, scanners don't like spiral notebooks and sketchbooks.

Well, thank you--you practice enough, you get pretty quick at sketching. There are artists who can do much better drawings than I in the same amount of time; an hour of sketching lets the final piece be looser and more fluid than if I'd spent several hours tightening it up, and I like that sometimes.

Yeah, I've seen artists like those. And then when they do spend a lot of time on the art work, it look un earthly its so good!

Yes, being able to sketch well is a good basis for 'real' art, and there are some phenomenal sketchers in the world who produce fantasic 'real' work. Whee!

Thank you so much! The eys were definately intended to be the focal point, so that's good.
