Description So once a day sketches turned into once in a while sketches. >_> All the same, here's another. Two hours, no eraser, yadda yadda, same as the other two. Scanner ate the finer details, of course.

I suggest full view, if you'd like to see it a little more like it really is.

Sure--just my pencils; some faber-castel, some prismacolor, some sanford. Whatever was in my pencil box. And, uh. That's it. Not very exciting, ha ha.

Thank you! ^__^

This is wonderful! The eyes are so alive and full of emotion! I love wolves but find it hard to draw them... ;] I would love to draw something like this someday...

I dislike (?) people who put a bad name on wolves. Yes, they can be gentle, and yes, they can be vicious; BUT they are not ALWAYS vicious. They dont attack people and/or livestock without a reason. Some people believe that they do, well they dont. Loss of habitat and/or prey can cause this as much as the next reason. Bottom line is that they are not viciuos creatures by nature and people need to stop giving them that bad reputation.

Btw, the nose looks a bit off...
(sorry for the long paragraph. ;])

Luckily, a lot of that image of the wolf IS being educated out of folks, though it still lingers. And while they are not, in the sense of intentionally atagonizing humans, viscious, they ARE apex predators and can still be a problem in places where their territory overlaps with humans' (especially those with livestock), which is why much of the dislike still lingers. And it's not a very cut and dry situation, unfortunately.

Unfortunately, the apparent understanding my drawing snarling wolves in class was that I /was/ one of those people who thought wolves were antagonizers of the human race. Oh well.

Thanks for the comment and feedback. If the nose looks a little crooked, that's actually how it's supposed to look (via reference )--but if there are other things amiss with it, I'd love you have you specify.

Wow, I would have thought you would have gone all AWOL on me for making the comment I did! huh. Thanks for not. :] lol
And yes, I understand and agree with you. There is still tension where wolf and human "terriroy" overlap, but think about it. They were there frist more than likely and so they think that the land is thiers - and in all fair honesty it is! Maybe I have an odd way of seeing this situation, but thats just me.. ;] I have never viewed these kind of situations lightly...
I can see that you ARENT one of thoes people. You would have responded much different if you were. No problem. ;]

No, Other than the nose, Everything looked great! Haha, I am glad tho that im not the only critique hungry person. ;]

I had no reason to go AWOL, to my knowledge. I basically agree with you. And I had thought you were agreeing with me. I hope I didn't come across as someone who hates wolves and takes protecting endangered and threatened species lightly. That was the point of my artist's comment.

I wish it were as easy as the wolves were there first, because they certainly were, and we encroached on them (which is, of course, the truth for nearly every endangered species in the world). You are far from the only one who thinks that way. Yet those who feed their families and keep their houses by the livelihood that gets eaten by wolves, competes with elk for food, etc. can see it all in a very different light. Which is why it becomes such an unfortunately touchy situation.

Oh, so anyway, all that to say, yes! I support wolf conservation, and keeping humans out of certain protected areas, and learning to coexist, etc. I had hoped my artist's comment had made it clear enough that I was not trying to make people hate wolves. Hee!

NO, I agree with ya. Its just that some people are... I dont know, they just dont like discusing this topic.

I know, I wish it were that easy too, but its not. I wonder if anyone will ever come up with a decient idea to fix this problem?

As I said, yes, I understand. You arent like that. I can tell. ;]

There is obviously more than one emotion, and to encourage these animals are always docile is not socially correct.

So thank you for portraying such a beautiful creature in the way that they sometimes become. It is indeed ferocious. But the intensity can only be brought on by a brilliant pencil.

And you accomplished that. Great job!
