I know that this is an older painting of yours, but I just really love it. Your newer stuff is absolutely incredible, but there's just something about the light and ethereal beauty of this one that makes it my favourite. Beautiful!

thank you for your careful comments..
you are right my style is changedΒ .. would say improved, since 2006 when I paint the mermaid in the moonlight
but some thingsΒ are unique and sometimes I wonder if can do it again,
anyway painting (for me) is exploring so I enjoy every new project as a discovery path and I don't know where it will bring me
my only trouble is that I never find enough time for paint.

You make painting sound magical and you are right. Even I can see that with every painting you get better, which is really amazing considering how great you are already. I look forward to seeing the amazing work you will do in the future.Β Β

I've never thought that but you are right: there is something magical in painting
at the moment I'm working on three different canvas that are almost finished and will soon be uploaded on DA
they are all enhancements of works already published here butΒ I was not totally satisfied this it
the 1th is the DD "made of light and dreams" the lady have now water legs formed by a crashing wave;Β I'm thinking of a title like "born from the waves"
the 2nd the never ended "mermaid of the blue cave", I want her innocent beautiful seducing and jet looking dangerous and a little frightingΒ (like love cloud be)
the 3rd is the sleeping mermaid "awaking" I was not satisfied with the drawing of the hand and also the face could be done better; yesterday I did it !

Wow. I'd be happy if I could paint those paintings especially the "made of light and dreams" painting. Although I have to say that the changes you made so far to theΒ "mermaid of the blue cave" really improved it. Making her look directly at the viewer makes her seem more dangerous, as if she's daring the viewer to break eye contact. So I'll really look forward to see what you do next. How do you know when you have finally finished it?

The technique of painting is something you can learn,Β even if you are not talented you can learn to reproduce
the images that inpsire you if you hard headed enough to keep on trying.
I've been teaching oil panting in an evening school since 2008 and found out that I can explain technique a tricks
but I cannot pass to others visions, fantasy, eyesight for beauty around us .. and to see what's wrong in your work.
I think that THIS is what you really need to become an artist, the rest is merrily just a matter of exercise.
How do I know when a painting is finished is a good question, trying to answer you will make it clear also to myself : )
I live with the restless feeling that it could be done better but I consider the painting done when:
-I see some magic in it and I'm afraid to destroy it (it might be just a brush stroke),
-when I don't see mistakes in it
-when the colors built a quiver that awakes images in your mind and give the feeling to be there
when the paintings is incomplete this vision have rips here and there

It's great that you teach others how to paint. My art teacher in high-school was an artist so I know that it's really fun to learn art from a proper artist. You understand your pupils more.
I've never had a painting where I looked at it and can't see mistakesΒ Β I have it when I like the painting enough to be afraid of messing it up.

when you work at a painting for a long time you don't see the mistakes anymore
and you have to wait some days to gain a critical view of your work again;
if you don't want to wait all that time you can look at your work through a mirror (.. try it ! )
If you can see clearly the problems in your work you have an excellent basis to do it better
this can be done and endless number of timesΒ if you use oil color or arcilic
I have a silly question to you.. how do you add the funny faces to the text ?, I have tried several times but never found out : (

Thanks, I'll definitely try that next time I paint something.Β Β
It's not a silly Question since I asked someone else that a while ago too. Look at the bottom of the white box you're writing in. Click "+Add Media". It should open in the right tab. If it doesn't go to the smiley faces, then click "Emoticons" on the top.Β

Hello!
I just came across your work while browsing the site and thought you may be interested in an art contest sponsored by talentcall.com. The winner gets $175... not sure of all of the details, my friend is involved in that website so I thought I'd let you know so you could visit the site and submit this piece - the competition is for Shadow Art... they also have other competitions

Great Work!

molto bello questo dipinto - mi piacciono molto i toni del blu e la luce della luna che si riflette sull'acqua e sul corpo della sirena. Bella anche la posa e i gioielli di perle

It's a traditional oil painting on canvas size 70x50 cm (27,5"x 19,7") based on a fashion photo that I found on a magazine

Prego!
Parli tedesco?!
So solo un poco italiano. Ho prenduto (?) la materia facoltativa a la scuola (and this was some years ago).Questa estate ho fatto un corso de spagnolo e adesso miscio tutto :-/ Ma mi piace idiome
Your traditional art paintings are really fascinating! I haven't painted for years because I hadn't time for it (purtroppo ho fatto un studio non creativo). It's so sad that I didn't work on my skills. Even if I don't think I'll ever get this good!
