Nice hyperbole acheived in the pose. Almost like a drawing. Beautiful pose, did you draw it out first?

Thanks bro.
No, I sculpted straight out. I've always wanted to make a sculpt in this sort of pose.

An interesting reference might have been one of Genzoman's paintings, they exaggerate similar features.
You must be (or could be if you aren't) a wicked drawer. If you can build it, you can draw it.
When you started out did you draw your plans first? I can't see being able to come up with it, say, when you're without experience, at first. After a few years obviously you have a repertoire of information stored in your fingers, your mind, etc. But at first it must be sorta tough.

I think his woks are awesome, would love to sculpt something from him.
I can draw pretty good, the thing is that in 3D I don't have worry about perspective, warping, wrapping, vanishing points, shadowing, etc. Sculpting is there in real time, I find it much simpler to convey my thoughts in 3D.
I started sculpting when i was 5. Started by coping the cartoon characters from TV. From watching TV to straight sculpting. Never drew it out first.
I do have drawing, I will post them also, soon.

That's right, yah. After drawing for a while though your brain just gets used to 'seeing' in 3d. You literally look 'inside' the paper after a while, or canvas, instead of seeing it as a flat surface, after that point its just a matter of remembering certain things, and thinking about appeal.
Well that's cool, I appreciate sculpture a lot more now that I am older than when I was little, I was never a hands-on type of kid. I always enjoyed drawing, music, etc.. but nothing too tactile. Its an amazing talent. ~

It's the whole key to drawing XD The only other key is composition - which is nothing but contrasts. Take your favorite art and I promise you it will have big contrasts in some area.
Big vs small detailed vs space, straight vs curve, round vs square, one direction vs another (angles), texture vs smooth, black vs white, red vs blue, etc... you get the picture. The more hyperbole, and contrast a piece has generally the more appealing.
An artist will also, if they a talented, usually emphasize the things the human mind/eye points out and deliberately be less detailed with the things the mind/eye passes over. This is why anime is so successful.
Eyes and hair, especially bangs (around the eyes) are detailed, fingers are fairly detailed, but especially clothing (shoes, etc..) are fairly rendered, whereas things like legs etc.. rather than being rendered realistically are just there for their proportional value (how long or short they are in relation to the body) to give more power to the pose, etc.
*Phew, this was long XD

So true, I really never thought about it that way.
I guess the same holds for 3D, as long as the dimension are on target, the limbs can be very simple with subtle details, almost just hints of curves and indentations.
I always put more attention to the parts that are not "taken for granted".
Not to say that a nice waist line going into an array of delicious curves downward to the feet are "taken for granted", but the costume, accessories, etc are definitely more captivating.
Hahaha, the science behind the magic, it's really interesting

Yah it is, and some styles choose to emphasize different parts. There are a lot of artists who take advantage of the curves of the legs moreso than anime. Different emphasis will bring out different qualities I think.
But some are universal, such as an emphasis on eyes, hips for women, shoulders for men, etc.. I believe.

And of course you already understand composition because you've been an artist for a pretty long time. So all you really need is the first one for drawing Am I right?
