The Goffbird Class Star Destroyer was designed as a heavy rapid response ship that would be more practical than most other vessels available to the Imperial navy. It was mainly intended to be used in the corporate sector and more important outer rim areas. The ship never was produced however due to the massive funding relocated for the DS battle stations during the galactic civil war. However, these ships designs were taken by imperial warlord Zsinj during an early raid on the New Republic with the intention of building a large security fleet to reinforce his dwindling numbers in the north of the galaxy.
