Hm..maybe..but the creation of Rex was completely covert until the take over.. so that couldn't be stopped..
Yeah I know Sam can do some stuff, but Solid is a clone of the best soldier to exist, plus take in his experience against very challenging foes (Null from the Minefield)

Sam deals with things that are covert (NSA man, LOL), so in the Clancy world, that would've been stopped. Solid was cloned from the best soldier to exist, but of course it was the best soldier to exist and to be known. Sam is an unknown soldier, and he's no clone. Null... yeah well.. I'm pretty sure Sam would just avoid that instead of going to confrontations like this, lol. Not because he's a coward, but because he knows his shortcuts, LOL.

No. China does. Not every one is a Seal. Not everyone is a spec-op or a black-op. Infantry is what you see at first, what happens behind it is another story. Did you know that the NSA is the world's largest single employer of mathematicians and military, plus the owner of the single largest group of supercomputers. Despite that, it has still managed to keep a low profile. I'm not counting CIA here. Of course war has changed, adapted to cyberwar. Infiltration and extraction of intel is critical instead of going head to head against the enemy. There's when the soldiers come to aid the computer scientists, mostly black-ops... There's where Sam works.

Sythius In reply to elDrow [2008-12-03 22:57:13 +0000 UTC]
Nice...
Britain has the highest quality military
But it's also understandable why..
Britain has the second highest expenditure in military..only beaten by America... except there's ALOT less peeps in and of Britain. So in ratio, more money gets spent per soldier, training and such of a British Soldier than an American Soldier..
British Snipers also teach American Snipers..
... Britain still has an Empire...albeit only 2 small places other than Britain in the world...

elDrow In reply to Sythius [2008-12-07 20:57:22 +0000 UTC]
Is not only about the training soldiers get, but on the things they rely. There's where America is good at. Plus America could have more soldiers than Britain, but no-one gets the special spot that is being a spec-op, a Navy SEAL, or a black-op. The US, don't need the numbers so much. They infiltrate, with soldiers (which is not in infantry) and hacking. Computer scientists aid soldiers in battle, making the perfect combination.
If it is of training your are talking about then you should go to Israel... They really know their stuff.

Sythius In reply to elDrow [2008-12-08 00:45:53 +0000 UTC]
...Our special forces are better than Navy SEALs.
If anything, USA will be winning slowly on the front line due to mass numbers and technology, but skill of Britain has will hold out quite bait longer than most could..that and Americans would prolly friendly fire themselves a few times X3
We also have much superior Radars and such over here >:3
..But yeah.. USA will be slowly winning on the front line, while Britain special forces shall be causing all kinds of chaos behind lines.. assassinating key figures, generals, etc, messing up the economy and so forth..

elDrow In reply to Sythius [2008-12-08 15:26:00 +0000 UTC]
Dude.. you can do that with one guy, and a computer scientist aka hacker, LOL. Gicen the NSA's supercomputer... plus NSA satellite(s)... Is more than enough. Communication warfare, without using front lines. UAV's could take care of the rest, and give me some black-ops for the manual job. That's it LOL

Lol, you're black ops get pwnt by Birtish SAS
π: 0 β©: 1
elDrow In reply to Sythius [2008-12-11 00:16:35 +0000 UTC]
Hmmmm... if they get them first. Their thing is not confrontation because of the differences between politics. Also, is not only the training but the people behind them giving them aid which makes a black-op complete. They've been operating around without being spotted. Right now one or more of them might be working out there, without us to know.

Sythius In reply to elDrow [2008-12-11 07:32:25 +0000 UTC]
I'm not saying your Black Ops isn't good. All I'm saying is that it's proven fact that Britain's Special Forces are the best in the world.

elDrow In reply to Sythius [2008-12-11 13:08:15 +0000 UTC]
There's is no evidence to prove the black-ops are better than this other. They are black-ops, after all, lol.
π: 0 β©: 1
elDrow In reply to Sythius [2008-12-11 17:59:44 +0000 UTC]
Many countries do black-ops, operations which we'll never know about unless one of us was in there. We can only see the training they received through the military per se, but once they enter the black-ops, at least over here, things change a little... >_> lol.
π: 0 β©: 1
Sythius In reply to elDrow [2008-12-12 07:29:41 +0000 UTC]
Lol.
British SAS doesn't need to train extra or anything to do Black-Ops, it's part of their SAS training.
π: 0 β©: 1
elDrow In reply to Sythius [2008-12-12 21:50:31 +0000 UTC]
The NAVY, ARMY, and USAF, offers the soldiers their own training for black-ops or spec-ops. However, they don't end up in there. There are other things to learn for the few who get the privilege to serve as a spec-op or a black-op. Example: using parkour as a technique for means of offensive and retreat. If you've seen what that is, then you'll understand. Combine that with the hand to hand combat training on Krav Maga and others (essentially Krav, since it is the best out there being a combination of the most important disciplines) That's just of the few things the rest of us can know. That's without talking about the high tech stuff they can count on and the advance weapon training they receive when they are not even black-ops or spec-ops yet. That without counting the resources of a whole team of computer scientists behind the line helping the guys out there to complete the job more "easily" so to speak. As you can see, black-ops here are picked carefully. Not every soldier can do black-op or spec-op... Not every soldier is chosen to be, like the term they used today thanks to the advances in technology, a SIGNIT or SIGINT ninja. I'm not saying that the SAS are bad. They are awesome. However, the ways to do things in some cases is not all about the training, even if the training for the black-ops and spec-ops, at least the little we know, is really tough. It is also about the way they adapt to technology with the training they have and continue, and the people who work behind the lines aiding this soldiers in the WI-FI era.

lolololololololol I agree! By the way, check my journal. It talks about a community for SC fans but MGS fans are welcomed to. I run the community along a friend of mine who is a MGS fan, so you get an idea, of the crazy things you might see, lol. I respect fandom stuff, so I won't get in and ruing the beliefs of a fandom. But anyways, you're very welcomed... By the way... I love your art, LOL

Agreed. Sam would be PWNED.
Although Snake never makes use of Darkness.
Sam Isn't a Clone of a Big Boss.

Snake never has darkness...
He's always in well lit area..
Be it the sun shining on a open camp, or a facility (Such as the Shadow Moses one).
Being a clone of Big Boss isn't really a con, though not a pro either...
It's just..is like that.
The only bad point relating clones, is being the inferior one of the 3.

lol yeah but cmon dude, the enemies in the Metal Gear games are so damn blind and stupid, I mean cmon you stand 10 meters away from them and they dont see you -_-.
Besides, the Splinter Cell games are a lot harder.

Lol, that's just had they made the game..

Even as the inferior one. He still managed to kick the SUPERIOR (Liquid Snake) one's ass.
Both Snake and Sam also sneak around the corner to kill or Knock Out the Guards (I prefer KILL.)

Snake does do alot more killing...
Also I swear he dodged some bullets or something at some point...etc...
He can also beat others which are Masters of something. (such as when he killed Sniper Fox)

It's funny... Cause Sam can complete a mission, without KOs or killings... nobody saw him.
π: 0 β©: 1
Sythius In reply to elDrow [2008-12-02 07:37:47 +0000 UTC]
First off.. Sam goes around places which can be easily dark...
Snake has mostly been in the open in the sun, or in brightly lit facilities.... secondly Snake can do all that too.. as it's required to get the highest rank in the game(s).
All you got is a slow firing Tranquilliser gun, plus you can't ever be detected, never cause the game to go to caution mode, etc..
you're doing the exact same thing I did with Sam, doubting their capabilities at certain things..
π: 0 β©: 1
elDrow In reply to Sythius [2008-12-02 18:44:27 +0000 UTC]
Sam doesn't need of dark, even though he prefers it. He spent some time at the CIA doing the old kinda spying. He also knows social stealth, so well... he doesn't need the gadgets. Oh, and there's no tranq gun on SC, you gotta get close. On SC: DA, old gen there was a tranq gun which ha some more things than just darts, but what the heck... I never used it, cause no-one saw me. In SC you can go by unnoticed and not because it's easy, really...

elDrow In reply to Sythius [2008-12-03 02:56:07 +0000 UTC]
Not really... The character is smart enough to look for alternatives, but that doesn't mean the alternative is easier. Sometimes it takes longer but it is the correct path. Plus Sam has not only his amo to care about. The political tensions and ways of other countries he has to go is one of those things why he needs to remain invisible. For example: If he's about to infiltrate some sort of organization in the US, he has to be careful. Well now with the Patriot Act should be easier, LOL.
Maybe Null would've never touch Snake, and maybe he had a possibility to stay alive if you kept out of his way. But I know Kojima... Is the drama what makes the good games he does, though they lack common sense and logic (If you played MGS1 you know... LOL).

elDrow In reply to Sythius [2008-12-03 14:35:25 +0000 UTC]
Gray Fox might be cool, but he is far from realism. Fisher, who is a black-op, is what now is considered to be a real life modern day ninja, lol.

π: 0 β©: 1
elDrow In reply to Sythius [2008-12-08 15:36:45 +0000 UTC]
Gray Fox is an anti-hero... or something along those lines. Now... Liquid is a heck of a villain, so much that they use him till MGS4. Then again, I'm not much of a fan of villains, just to make a villain. I prefer targets or revolutionaries, terrorists with multiple ways to do their thing. The ultra-villain thing is kinda overrated.

Yeah I guess..
Alright..
Gray Fox has one of the best ends for a character X3
...Ya know Gray Fox's history goes far back with Solid?.. ...even before the minefield if I remember correctly..

elDrow In reply to Sythius [2008-12-11 01:05:01 +0000 UTC]
Yeah, though I think could have gone down better, plus he was a bit out of his mind, though it was logical... CYBORG NINJA, lol.
And yes, Gray Fox, first game... the soldier that goes missing. Actually, Null, his name comes from "NULL" which comes from computer programming, which means empty. Casualty? I don't think soooo... lol
I remember writing a little thing of a crossover (I've written lots of crossover with MGS and SC actually... which is awesome... lol), and I think I turned Fisher into a cyborg ninja... The man is paranoid and quick on his feet, silent to the point of even holding his breath and count the steps of the enemy, or enemies close to him even if he can't see them, to know the location. He knows from parkour to Krav Maga hand to hand Israeli combat, and his gun, the 20K is one of the most balanced weapons out there and on of the best right from Israel CQC capable... etc, etc, etc... Imagine that ninja, turned into a cyborg ninja? It was funny though, cause he would use the sword backwards, as if it was his combat knife lol... but it was awesome, but scary to some points.

...Null is his alias like is Solid Snake is for David.
Null's real name is Frnak JaΓ©ger, which means Hunter.. cus of how he killed others while he was young..
Frank Hunter has been killing since he even before he wa s aTeenager if I remember correctly..

Kojima and his symbolic names... lol
Yes he was a boy soldier. However, that doesn't mean more experience, but maybe that he was a bit more insane and couldn't think of a day without killing. That's how it would work in the real world... which is sad.
