Well this is an interesting capture.
Homeless people do make for an for fascinating subjects.
How regular people interact around the homeless is an testimony to how we as a society view such people.
Good Capture...btw.
This is 11PM? It looks like daytime?

Thank you for the comment! I agree that the murkier side of city life is a fascinating subject. I spent a couple of minutes on the bridge shooting Dublin scenery etc. as there was a beautiful reddish sunset glow on the horizon, when I noticed that passers by really evaded the homeless woman/girl, still pretending not to notice her...
The daytime remark is also fascinating, as I got the same comment from a friend before. I really have no straightforward explanation on why it looks like it looks, but I know some things that have contributed to it: 1) It was mid july, so the sun was still 'setting' and gave some light, which was reflected from both sides of the bridge (had to google the setting time, to be sure I remembered it right, the official setting time was 10:20pm ), 2) I used the on camera pop-up flash in Nikon D700 as a focused fill (as focused as I could with a paper tube, but couldn't get it perfect as I couldn't try it out before taking the pic), 3) there was a large bulb lamp just behind me and at the end of the bridge in the column behind the girl standing in mid-right (see the set-up at: [link] or [link] ) and the cars passing by gave some varied lightning, and 4) I added some fill and lightness to the image in lightroom.
And good that you liked it, as it is one of my favourites as well (still have to work on a dozen or so other pics from Dublin streets... to be seen here then later )
