Description This hit my one day, out of the blue while I was in traffic. I'm not normally a computer artist but I really like the flat stylized effect that this has. I've done some self portraits in a similar style in the past.
So what do you think Red Riding Hood would say?

She was a first experimentation. Vectors rasterized in photoshop. I have Alice in Wonderland in the back of my head with a Martini that's tagged "Drink me"

Glad you like them. I meant to do Alice in Wonderland with Drink Me and a martini but got side tracked with... oh yeah... that work thing.

Oh yeah. THAT.
Actually, my new job is a 24/7 mommy-thon. Hard work, pay sucks, no vacations....but, the hugs and smooches and "You're the bestest mommy EVER!" comments....now those are absolutely priceless.

Much appreciated! I fully intend to get Alice in Wonderland done one of these days - especially now that I'm experimenting with Illustrator more. She's supposed to be running along a path with a martini in her hand with the tag "Drink me".

I read your most recent journal and I will confess seeing many similarities with my high school life. I wasn't one of the pretty girls that got to hang out with the good looking guys. I was a book nerd - worse yet, a teacher's daughter. I was (and still am) small for my age and rather (ahem) unendowed. The kicker was that I was the only (or almost only) redhead on an island in the Bahamas. I was born there, yet for all my life, locals would hang their heads out of passing vehicles to call me names like, Annie, Fire and so on. When I finally went to art college in the US I felt like I finally fit in - but I was a minority. I was mundane. I was "normal". My hair wasn't dyed, my skin wasn't tattoed and I had no piercings other than my ears. Somehow it just didn't matter. Yes there will still be cliches in college, people just naturally gravitate towards others who are similar. That's how they feel comfortable. But at that age and level, you're not interested in superficial skins. We were more interested in backgrounds, art, experience and typical college stuff. (staying up way too late!)
I guess my point is - it gets better.

While you were treated like an outsider prior to college, I'm glad to hear it got better for you. That gives me some hope, so thank you for taking the time to comment with that. 8)

Hi ! you have been chosen by one of my ODD Account watchers to be in the spotlight !

Today's theme is dedicated entirely to the masses as they have sent me O.D.D. suggestions to feature.
ODDS (oibyrd's daily deviations) are to honor the sometimes overlooked artists of dA that I personally think deserve some exposure and also, to introduce the more popular artists to the new/overlooked deviants. I prefer to showcase ALL artwork that I love (and that includes popular artists) in order to create a non-biased feature of the talent on dA Please click the link below to see your work featured and to view other featured artists . If you prefer not to be a featured artist, just send me a note and I will remove you from the list. Cheers! Sandi xoxo

Hmmm may have to upload a larger version. There is detail in the stitches on her cloak and the cloth on the basket that you can't see.
