Description THIS IS NOT GOING TO BE COUNTED AS CONTEST ENTRY!Since I'm techincally the one who's hosting the contest xD

The contest I'm talking about is st ,go check it out if you haven't already!

Phewww...finally done! Can somebody please teach me how to colour simply on digital? because I can't seem to get it right, and painting like this is too time consuming and tiring...lol

So...this is what I though about Nnoitra's Zanpakuto...Santa Teresa.I got inspired by Nnoitra himself & mantises,but that's obvious .

The hardest part? The Spoony weapon....really!it took me 1 hour to get it done right....

and this time,I even added backround...It's a picture of hueco mundo I found, altered a bit to fit the drawing.

One thing I wanted to point out : Because I see a confusion about the name of this Zanpakuto,
Santa Teresa= Mantis Religiosa = Praying Mantis (the insect!) .It has nothing to do with Mother Teresa or SAINT Teresa...okay?^^

Hope you like it...and to the people who will join this contest, have fun, fellow Spoony lovers!

This is a great interpretation of his Zanpakuto!

Very well done! <3

Of course "Santa Teresa" means "Praying Mantis", but in my opinion there is a relation to the "Saint Teresa" or "Mother Teresa". We all know that Nnoitra has a lot of problems with women. He is a sexist, insulting and harming women. And all of those women he insulted(Harribel, Nelliel, Orihime) are attractive, big-breasted and dressed sexy. On the other hand all three women are innocent and sacrificied themselves for someone (Harribel's aspect of death is sacrifice, Nelliel fought Nnoitra for her fraccion and Orihime went to Hueco Mundo to protect her friends). I think there is relation to Saint Teresa, but I'm not saying that the "insect" part is incorrect.
I just think that Nnoitra is especially because of this a really interesting character and I laughed when I saw that scene in the Anime and it was like "His Zanpakuto is female!" Also his two horns can be seen as a halo...just like this [link]

Gah, I wrote too much x_x
Didn't plan to attack you xD Sorry for this

don't worry,I love receiving comments like this actually

I will agree with you,I actually believe that there is a connection .The insect part that I wrote above is mostly about the design. But even then,It does have a connection since mantises are called "praying" because of their posture (the connection with Saint Teresa). And I honestly believe that Nnoitra didn't hate women (and wasn't THAT bad as he was trying to appear),he was just really desperate about everything and believed that by belittling others he would feel better.

actually it seems it's all the above, not just the one or the other. And my point was to clarify the meaning of the name only, because as it seems, this could be a conversation going on and on forever xD especially if you think about the nature of the mantises (the insects)

And thank you!I spent a lot of time thinking how would Santa Teresa look, it means a lot ^^

Oh, I see, it was only about the name, sorry! >_<

I agree with you. His aspect of death is despair, which is also very fitting. It's interesting that he's something like a..bully. Just seeking for attention.

Haha, yes! Because we know so little about Nnoitra there is so much space for theories.

You're very much welcome! <3
