Description "Jenna, Jenna! Are you still there?!" I couldn't handle it, she wasn't answering.

"Wha- I'm here, just calm down Aly." Her voice sounded nervous.

"What am I going to do?" I was starting to get control of myself.

Jenna seemed distracted, "Huh, we'll figure something out."

"Thanks, Jenna."

"How bout this? You drive out to the city and I'll drive there, lets meet halfway." Her voice was shaky.

"But I'm still on my L's!" I said.

"Aly, you've been driving since you were ten, I don't think anyone will mind." She seemed nervous still, but I was feeling better.

"Still-"

"Its not like you're going to crash is it Aly?" She said.

"Never and don't call me Aly." I said.

"So we take the same roads, we'll-"

That's when the phone cut out. I almost went hysterical again, but I was calmer than before and not easily thrown. I did start talking to myself though, which probably wasn't a good sign.

"Phones just cut out, I'll find mum's mobile."

I had to search the house for it, she always left it in odd places. When I found it I quickly looked up Jenna's number. The phone didn't even ring. I had to force myself calm again.

"It'll be fine, just do what Jenna said, I'll drive out to meet her."

I must admit, at this point hysterics were definitely a possibility. I didn't understand what was happening, but I still couldn't shake that feeling of before, the feeling that something was deeply wrong. I walked out to the car. It was an old ute, dirty and rusty, we had it since before I was born. I turned the key which was always left in its place. Nothing happened.

"Come on, no time to be temperamental." I patted the dashboard.

Nothing happened when I turned it again, so I got out and checked the engine. Nothing was wrong, I knew enough about engines to know that the old ute should be working. I hopped in and turned the key again. Nothing.

"Great, Old clunkers flat." But I knew that was wrong.

I stepped back into the house to find the spare battery. Something seemed wrong to me though, the house was even quieter than before. I realised then that the hum of the fridge had stopped.

"Power's out." I said nervously.

Then the loud clock stopped ticking. That really threw me into hysterics. That clock had the loudest tick and it was always there, always ticking. Even when the batteries went flat, it would tick and tick and tick its second hand meeting some barrier. But it stopped suddenly there was no ticking. I looked at the mobile clenched in my sweaty hand, its screen was black, and nothing I could do would make it light up.

"No, must be a bad dream."

But I knew it was another lie, bad dreams are never like this. This is too real, and more scary than I could ever had imagined. That's when I really knew, I had to get control of myself, I had to do something.

"I'll walk into town, if I find people-"

I couldn't end that sentence, something in me knew people were going to be hard to find. I took a deep breath trying to contain the hysterics still bubbling up inside me.

"I'll do what Jenna said, she's still there."

I was telling myself that, trying to convince myself that in this silent world my sister was still here. When everything else was gone, I turned to her; though we often used to fight I knew I could rely on her when times were tough.

That's alright, I understood it could happen, and I didn't think you would say no, so I just included it.

Your characters going to have some fun with tech stopping.

Especially since she's higher maintenance than Alyssa XD She's not going to be too pleased about going by on foot haha.

And think about the automatic sliding glass doors?
At least Alyssa is slightly Tomboyish.

I'll leave that one up to you.

At least Alyssa and Jenna were raised on a farm, they won't be totally clueless at how to survive.
