Behold - a freaking dragon character. I was inspired by the works of my friends, Celly aka EnderGurl and Swirls aka Strawberry Heart Roses (a big shoutout) and decided to draw myself a dragon character too. But it’s not your average Equestrian dragon. They are based off of a Spanish myth, and the only dragons that do/did exist in my AU are all mythological. Cause I thought to myself - hey, if Der Nachtkrapp (aka Bert’s cursed birb straight from hell) exists, then why not add a dragon?

Current place of living: Ronda, Andalusia, Spain, although originally comes from the mountains of Catalonia.
Nationality: Spanish / Basque
Sexuality: Asexual
Relationship status: single and doesn’t want to start a relationship
Height: Very tall (cause it’s a dragon!)
Built: Big. Very rough dragon scales skin. Strong muscular wings, thin legs and arms, very strong tail. Sharp claws and teeth, fangs visible on both sides of the head. Not particularly strong or athletic, but sure can fight back.
Voice: Medium pitched male voice. Not very expressive,
Skin Color: The dominant color is violet, but it goes from indigo blue to lilac to pale crimson.
Eye color: Eye whites are ochre yellow with bright brown/red irises.
Occupation: Head timekeeper ghost, the keeper of all historical records. Basically your historian.

Rayo is a child of the Herensuge, a Basque legendary dragon mother with seven children (aka heads). In this case, her children were not her heads, but separate dragon babies. Rayo was the youngest one of them. Herensuge used to defend a small town way up in the mountains and the residents treated her like their queen, but not until the Spanish Inquisition put an end to it. Dragons were always depicted as evil in Christian myths, so their family was immediately considered dangerous. Rayo’s mother and siblings tried to resist them, but they all were cruelly slaughtered. Since Rayo was less than one at that time, a family friend successfully hid them and raised as their own child. When Rayo was around 17, Princess Celestia (the ultimate peacekeeper in my universe) chose him to be turned into a timekeeper ghost. Dragons live longer than ponies, so when they became a timekeeper their lifespan increased. Generations passed, and soon Rayo became the oldest timekeeper, they collected thousands of books and runes, they were the wisest, and therefore they were chosen to be a leader. Now they live a peaceful life way up in the mountains of Andalusia, they have their huge library and whenever a timekeeper needs any help or reference materials, they ask Rayo. They are a calm, friendly and a very thoughtful dragon that knows just about everything in this world. Their best friends are Leonore and Mark Torres, aka Ciera’s parents, and the three would often spend time in Rayo’s beautiful garden of all sorts of fruit trees, drinking wine and discussing politics.
